From what Ive read the first gen had issues but they seemed to have worked them out with the gen2. Ive had absolutely 0 issues with mine.

Rebate is good until the end of June, so I'd wait and see, but I can't imagine prices dropping any further. That said, I bought my MP15 last month for $525, and now I'm seeing them for $499.

Hey man, I believe it. There is never a 100% guarantee on products. From a bigger point of view it makes more sense to get something that isn't a Taurus. I've seen more have issues(On the interwebs) than any other big/popular weapon manufacturer. I've also seen plenty that have never had a hickup. That's bad quality control. You got lucky it sounds like

Though I'm trying a Shield in 45, I'm a huge advocate of the 9mm. I just wanted to see if I hate the Shield less than shooting a Glock 36 (single stack 45) which I really did not like.

I don't think Taurus are as bad as the internet says they are. I've read good things about their copies (PT1911, PT92 or whatever the beretta clone is) so maybe it's just the guns they design themselves that have problems, who knows.

I have found the 147 gr way to much for the shield as the 124 gr HST's have been the sweet spot for this gun.....

I run the 124gr +P Gold Dots in my Shield, and it digests them with no problems and very minimal recoil. But I train with 'regular strength' 124gr to minimize wear.

I ran the 147's and I lost about 6/8% in accuracy @ 9/11 yards 3.78/4.56 inches and with the 124's i was able to maintain 2.34/2.86 inches @ 9/11 yards.....

Personally I run the 124gr's in all of my 9mm's when I'm not just plinking. They expand well, are faster and flatter than the 147's, and like you said they seem to hold a tighter pattern for me. Doesn't matter if it's the Shield, the 5906, or the G19

First one is my EDC setup. Second one is my most recent acquisition just before my baby was born in Feb ... So that also means my last for a while... Lol but I do hope to SBR it someday.
