Willy's my third going back to the late 90's. I hunt upland and waterfowl (both ducks & geese) with them. They're so talented. And more importantly, they're members of the family. Spoiled rotten! I've been fortunate with all three in that they've never needed to be crated during the day (except puppy time) and I've not had one item chewed, destroyed, etc.

Dude. I have the EXACT set-up you're looking for. It's a skiff machine- ducks and fish! If you can give me a few days I'll try to get some pics to you on it. Mine is designed for a long-tail mud motor and not sure what kind of motor you're looking for, but if you're thinking about anything like I did then you'll love mine. Mine is a 12' Jon that was given to me (it's a 1972 Sears) but that has been COMPLETELY redone.

I just looked for pics on my computer, but I don't have any...

Nice ties and nice vise. What are you targeting with those, reds? Which vise do you prefer?

Here are a couple of recent ties this week for my upcoming trip.

Yup! He's figured out it's best to stay put on bigger rivers. On smaller rivers & streams he'll stay very close, but explores a little.

And in my canoe he just sits (sometimes lays down) right in the bow.

Love the pictures! The bugs look great against the back ground of your antique looking work bench (solid core door surface for the win)

Thank you! Actually that streamer is called "Baby Bass" but they work great for Reds and Trout as well. Hardest part about tying those flies (at least the method I've "self learned") is taking the lighter and going over the head to get all of the little stray hairs off when using laser dubbing.

Most of the flies I use for Reds typically: crabs in morning when they are tailing, streamers like that when they are chasing baitfish close to the bank and closer minnows.

Thank you! I'll have to get a pic of my whole set-up. I have an "office" that's really mostly just a man cave that is completely separate from the house. I keep the tying bench, work bench, bed for naps, ducks/deer/turkey/coyote/beaver taxidermy, fishing rods and all that.

I'll have to get some pics of the whole thing.

    No worries man!

I have a kayak sitting on top of it right now, but I'll see what I can get for you. For real though, I'll help you out as much as I can with ideas, thinking through stuff, materials, how to's, anything. Anything you need, just ask me and I'll help you. I'll give you my cell number and email address so you can call/text/email with questions. I even have a Stiffy Push Pole that I cut down so it would fit inside it flush, as I don't have a trolling motor so we could "sneak up" on fish and trolling motors are loud under water.

For the trailer, I took a McClain trailer that was made for a 16' boat and cut it down so it would fit completely perfect and flush with the float pods on the back. I literally hand picked every single part on that boat, I designed everything, and had it completely custom done- EXACTLY the way I wanted it. I re-did the transom where the motor attaches and EVERYTHING out of aluminum. EVERYTHING.

I 95% fly fish and duck hunt, so this boat was completely designed for those 2 things. I wanted exactly what you're looking for and then I didn't have a "truck project" going on so I did the boat project.

I'd like to see those pics, too. I'm presently looking at ideas to incorporate into my drift boat build.

Have you checked out Pinterest? The ideas that are on that site are amazing. It's not just for woman.

For those of you that have asked to see the tying bench and the ceiling rod holders, here you go:

    IMG_0408_zpsclzk8zrz_0ecfd4c06b29ee994f3f3aa65e04e5579aeacfa9.jpg

I did that ceiling myself out of cedar fence post. Yes, that's a Beaver hide hanging on my bag hook. I shot all 3 of those Woodies in 1 morning, and it is super cheap to do that rod holder set up- just make sure you measure 3 times and drill a pilot hole.
