I agree - you can't sell until 50 posts- should have similar rule for creating threads- except in new members thread of course
    No, just..... no

New people asking questions is what keeps a forum going. If you don't want to answer a new member's question then don't fucking open the thread. People being complete cunts to new members doesn't make them want to stay around. We're not paying for the server space.

Without the noobs you'd have a stale forum with nothing but the occasional bullshit thread.

Not to mention, you guys bitch when someone digs up an old thread, then you bitch about somebody starting a new one. Can't have it both ways.

I see it like this. My opinion.

1 out of 10 noob threads are probably legitimate. But the traffic they generate is what we need. Keeps the place moving.

Yeah I get sick of seeing 15 "What tire can I fit threads" every goddamn day. Especially when there is a sticky about it. But it's movement. And after 5 pages you're legally allowed to derail it.

Stop hitting on me. There's a different thread for that.

Better- the idea is, if you can't create a thread, you might try searching......

After making 50 posts in other people's threads, you will have a better idea how the shitshow works

I get it. It's a great idea on paper but I don't see it working.

I think you'll lose more new people than you'd keep because they want the answer now. They'll just go somewhere else where they can post.

I have the JBL system and while I know it's not top of the line, I wanted something that sounded a little better than the standard system. I have to say this sounds pretty good. It's almost as good as the premium system in my BMW but it doesn't have as much high end volume. I said almost! But the JBL wasn't a $5,000 upgrade either. Several people on here are talking about the OEM Audio Plus. Is sounds like it's basically plug and play for the most part and range from about $1,000 to $1,500. The ones who have it totally love it.

Maybe ask the mgmt. run a query about how many new members never make it to 50 posts
    I have seen a few in the 3rd gen forum. Don't visit 1st & 2nd so don't know.
Like our OP for instance- what are his chances?

My experience with most big forums like this is that there are usually between 1000-2000 active members at any time period. I think we're usually around 1400 or so.

So not many new dudes hang out.

But, and this is what I've been trying to put into words and think I figgered it out, we just need to be cool to the new dudes. Too many new threads get hammered on the first page with people screaming "stoopid noob" or "troll " or whatever.

Those guys will probably never fucking stick around because of that. It weeds out the thin-skinned but it is potentially chasing out solid dudes too.

Yes, I still think there should be a restriction about creating a thread until you have been around awhile. The solid dudes would deal

    My 2-cents..

Coming from my '05 Jeep GC with the upgraded Nav system and an add-on Sirius radio (I have the higher-end Entune, no JBL)..

No, it's not a loud as the GC's kickin Boston system.. Nor is the sound as good, but then it's not the JBL (Or a Boston).
GPS is MUCH better than the GC's, better maps, better NAV, better prompts.
AM/FM is on-Par, ability to play MP3's and such is better.

BT/Phone integration is better (with the exception of sometimes having to toggle BT off and back on for the phone to pair? once every other week or so)

My ONLY complaint is the Sirius/XM reception, my el-cheapo Sirius add-on radio never lost signal, this one seems to loose it in places I'd have never suspected, so the Sirius/XM antenna isn't as good.

Honestly, on a whole I like it a lot better than my previous car-stereo. Just need better speakers and an amp ;-)

PS - on the Sirius/XM signal thing.. I drop the signal driving in a wooded canyon, but keep it going through the tunnels in Pittsburgh

To be honest, the JBL in my truck is actually better than the Premium audio in my previous Bimmer....
