I just spoke to my dad in Perth Western Australia and they just had the hottest summer on record with 0.2mm of rain in more than 3 months.

Here in Squamish, near Vancouver, we just had what I think is the warmest winter on record (or close to it) with major spring like temps all winter and virtually no snow where there should be many feet of it. Anyone following the olympics probably would have heard about it.

I'm no expert, but I read a book a number of years ago that suggested Australia would get hotter, Western Canada would get milder in the winter and eastern USA would get freak storms and unstable weather. It also talked about parts of europe getting hammered with nasty winter conditions that are out of the norm. I'm pretty sure that happened in the last few years, and a buddy of mine livingin Germany said that this winter was nasty compared to the norm.

Seems to be playing out similar to what I read about 5 or 6 years ago.
