WHAT A HALF CHRISTMAS DISASTER.....

 

after driving the highlander for most of the last 1.5 weeks, my truck feels like it bounces all over the place. Hadn't realized how bad before.

Thinking i might get tires all road-force balanced. Maybe replace ujoints too just in case.

These tires are my first time having LT and also first mud tires. Is it normally a big difference in how they ride vs p-metric AT tires?

 

Ive been driving the Focus the last two weeks. Looking forward to/not looking forward to getting back into the rattle wagon

 

Bro..... 1. Small SUV vs. Truck. 2. Yeah, LT tires are stiff as hell and they're heavy. But I'm not say to not try

 

My truck sounds/feels like a tobacco wagon.

 

Daniel, I can't answer your question directly but im inclined to tell you once you changed the suspension and tires from stock, you made your truck less comfortable on road and far superior off road.

 

Oh and my truck rides and drives like a race truck and it's perfect . Except it's broken right now, sooooooo maybe not perfect

No. My truck = race truck. Rough ride on road = better ride off-road. King doesn't build OEM quality coilovers. They use billet aluminum, military grade stainless, top of the line springs, poly urethane bushings, teflon lined stainless uniballs and race quality fluids. None of those parts equal OEM quality. They all are "race quality" parts. You CAN NOT make a King coilover ride like an OEM strut/spring assembly. They aren't built for on road comfort, they are built for off-road performance and durability. That's what they are tested for, that's how they are marketed and that's what they are trusted to do. Why you choose to buy them is your own logical reasoning.

Race inspired King coilovers, stiff uniball ucas, shitty on road performing mud tires, parachute imitating aero dynamics and a fat, tall slut for a truck and you don't get a comfortable, lethargic, OEM, family Vegas vacation suv.

 

And get rid of the sway bar haha

getting alignment once and the guy started telling me how much better it would handle if i added a sway bar. I just laughed and said no it won't.


and the Kings rode really nice on the lighter softer tires i had before. It must be the stiffer sidewall, higher air pressure, and extra 20 lb per tire making it ride like a Radio Flyer now.

But it is a monster on the trails so guess i'll deal with it.

My sway bar went away when I put the 5100s on about 40k miles ago

 

The sales are what I have been waiting on. I emailed DSMS but nothing back yet. Just trying to make my mind up now so when the sales go live I can pull the trigger. Still reading around some on uniball vs ball joints. I had some screenshots of it being talked about in here a while back but I can't find them so letting google lead the way for me.

 

I said F it and got uniball just make sure you keep em clean. I've only went wheeling once with them and they seemed good. Got a good alignment with it was well. TC or Camburg is the way to go.
