I wouldn't worry about it. Supply and demand will have more to do with the resale value of your truck than a youtube video featuring a middle aged woman with a nose ring. Try finding a used low mileage Tacoma, and then look at the price tag. It will almost be as expensive as a new one. When I traded in my '15 Taco with 31k miles, the dealer put it out on the lot for $200 less than my final sale price. It was gone in less than a week.

How do you determine the reliability of an all new vehicle?

Agree totally about the Ridgeline! Although the "BJ's" might be a deal changer:bananadance:. They can write reviews about the 3d gen all they want but my experience with the 16' SR5 V6 DCSB and the related service (TSB's) has been great. I have now had the vehicle for 17 months and am pushing 18K. It could all go to sh!t tomorrow and, if so, I trade/sell it and go for another.

Well...if you have issues anywhere from when you first start it at the dealership to take it home, to today - like right now, this moment. :smack:

I think there is a lot of closet Ridgeline lovers on this forum, you know, guys who have been driving Tacoma's all their lives but want a change, want some added spice, want to extend their boundaries, and want to experiment with new and exotic experiences.

You know, just like when you hear a bud with Justin Beiber blaring in their Tacoma but when you come close they hastily and awkwardly turn off the stereo.

A stiff ride, clumsy street handling and loud noises are usually characteristics of vehicles with actual offroad capabilities. Meanwhile the Ridgeline's transmission overheated in the last shootout video I watched. I think CR is saying the tacoma is a poor sedan, which i'd agree with. It's a remarkable truck though.

First they look at it and if she's pretty its a big plus

They turn the key on and if the radio works its reliable, but they couldn't figure out get massaging to work on entune

That's only because they come low ATF from the factory, and it's considered "normal".

Who cares what road testers say about new cars. They drive them a day or so, if that. Consumer Reports has been bashing the Tacoma for a couple of years now for outdated design and ponderous handling. Hell, I still like the looks of the gen 1's. I drove my '11 until 6 months ago and never noticed poor handling or any other problems. It was never in the shop.
Prior to buying my 1st Toyota in 91 I drove GM cars. I quit buying them because they were all in the shop too often. I doubt that has changed.

Look at the book values and see who's on top. I have not but if I where to bet the Tacoma would be worth more than most.
