Buy a spray bottle (cheap one), quart of transmission fluid (cheapest stuff), and some acetone. Mix acetone with transmission fluid in equal parts, then spray all your bolts to remove the night before (or 5 minutes), then work to remove them. Have a jack, and 6 ton jack stands. A good breaker bar, probably 3/8, and possibly an impact wrench (not impact driver) will be good friends. Depending on new front springs, you may or may not be able to get by using chain autoparts store spring compressor "rental". I had to work them by hand, but I used them for OME 885 coils. Have an alignment appointment set for a day or 2 after the install.

    Workin' on it....
Yeah I've read that about the acetone mix - supposed to work better than PB Blaster....

Got most of those tools. I do have to invest in a good pair of jack stands though first.

I got some from harbor freight, and there was a sale going on, so I got them cheaper than I was expecting. Make sure they are the 6 not 3 ton. You need the bigger ones for height, not weight

Did that before, but the boot end just squirted out like a bar of soap.

Ok, I have to weigh in on the Mule.
Jon called me today, unprompted, having read that my cv boot clamp died again, to see if there was anything he could do. I think that shows great integrity.I do not hold Mule responsible for doing the clamp on my 130k truck which gets the living shit beat out of it. It's part of the cost of off-roading.
The crew at Mule wants to do right, and like any newer shop, they do some pretty good work, and sometimes it doesn't work out. BUT, they will make it good. I will continue to support them.
Also, I am a bit jealous of what they are doing for a life/ living.

Those come off really easily. @utroda had one come off after running top of the world, or at least a clamp just like it

Ok, so I started my spring cleaning on my truck this afternoon. In preparation, a few days ago I removed everything out of the truck. I HATE unexplained rattles, and have had a ping, rattle rattle coming from under my truck for about 4 months. While I was removing my skids I decided to minutely inspect everything under the truck, and found this lil puppy inside my frame cross member. Can only think it was from exiting Tahuya last time over the berm, when I scrubbed the top of the berm.
    Truck is now rattle free!

Still gotta be the cheapest around I would think, especially if i just drop them off. I'm thinking 4.88s with a rear air locker.

Actually, we talked about that, and Jon just said that Brian, ( as we all know) is very specific in his tastes and expectations, or something to that effect. He was very classy about it.
Look, I'm not getting paid to say any of this shit. I just want to support a local business and people who have the same passions as we do. They are great people, and want to do great things for us, but look folks, sometimes shit happens. The difference between a pro and an amateur , is that pros fix their mistakes.

If being "very specific about his tastes and expectations" is wanting an OEM clamp that I supplied rather than uncut zip ties or some weird modified clamp, then I seriously question their values as a business. All I want is the job to be done correctly and not taking any short cuts hoping I won't notice.
