Update: last night, none of the suggestions had any effect. I gave up and went to bed.

This morning the truck was fine. The Key fob worked fine. I drove it around, parked it, and secured the truck no problem.

I contacted the dealership I bought it from. They mentioned there was some sort of service bulletin on this exact issue. It's on it's way to my local dealership. Hope to have an answer and solution soon.

BTW I don't think the moonroof or JBL system was the culprit. I'm pretty sure its the leather seating, fox suspension, and cement color that's to blame. :bananadance:

If you look at what time this thread was started, it is impossible to get a dealer to look at it when its almost 11pm.

I know. I should file a complaint with Toyota for vehicle malfunctions that happen after hours when service dealerships are closed.

I was referring to all the "helpful" posts that said everything but "take it back to the dealer"!

Update: Dealer reports that diagnostics indicated no problem.

After some more digging, they report finding a harness with a poor connection and fixed it. No more issues. Kept it overnight to confirm.

I got it back today and so far, no more issues. Hopefully it stays that way.

Thanks again everybody for all the help and suggestions. Much appreciated.

Glad the dealership didn't say it's a normal characteristic of this truck like everything else. :)

Sorry dude but "poor harness connection" is almost always usually technician talk for either "we don't know what the hell we did but it's fixed" or "it just went away". i hope it doesn't come back.

Not true at all. I've heard of, seen, and worked on multiple vehicles with pin connection issues. You'd be surprised how some of the tolerances can be. Just a few weeks ago we had a 2017 f250 come in and it was intermittently stalling. Found the issue to be a bad pin connection at a harness at the fuel pump.
