When I was rebuilding my sliders I actually had to learn a bit about that. The leading edge of your sliders should be even with the outside of your front tire, The kickout, if you have 1 should stick out well beyond your rear tire. I could go more in depth as to why but will see if I can find a pic of mine and they are also kicked up as that will psh you off objects. I see alot of these siders that pretty much hug the rockers.

A picture of the difference would be good right now. I took 4 years of welding in high school and every time I start welding it always comes back to me. Tig welding was the best. That is all I did my senior year. Loved it. Not sure I would do well at it these days.

Shoot man you did great and it'll give you a good secure start. I'm still working on mine and have only had it out a few times. The money don't grow on trees for me

They are anti theft for security and go around the hinge, It is probably not appropriate to post a link here but they are in the for sale 2nd gen thread.

My first post in here was meant for you all to talk me out of spending my retirement on my truck, and it failed so now I am going to just spiral out of control. None of these parts will get installed anytime soon and have long lead times so I figured I better start with the cheaper stuff. Suspension, wheels, tires, bumpers oh crap! what did I do :)

Ha armor is the cheaer stuff. Wait until you price bumpers. Personally I'd try to find a good deal on a used one if you can. Usually just a basic plain plate steel bumper is around 800. Try an aluminum with full hoops

I want a hammock for the back of my truck. This way I can sit in the driveway and save money on gas as all the weight I add will just allow me to go around the block once or twice
