Cardinal went under the hammer today for the Annual inspection. I did everything myself including opening wing inspection panels, removing the interior and opening all inspection panels, removing engine cooling baffling and exhaust. I'm driving to Tulsa tomorrow to pick up some new cylinders, pistons, valves, rings, piston pins and whatever other parts come in the kit. :woot:

Pretty sure you cant dump fuel on an Md80 (im assuming that is what the plane is). Probably it venting fuel. Fuel tank vent valve is in that area I think. Tanks may have been overfilled

Didn't get any shots, but saw 2-deer on the ramp today at Boeing field for takeoff.

That's one hell of a custom plate for a sweer 787-8 BBJ

Update on the Cardinal. I got the old cylinders removed yesterday. Today I got the engine prepped for the new cylinders and pistons and got them all assembled and installed. I'm having a blast! I'm so glad the mechanic allows me to do the labor with his supervision. Tomorrow we are going to torque everything and get the push rods and rockers installed. After that, it's on to all the other junk that goes around the engine!

Also, I hope to have my commercial single certificate by this time next week, so that's exciting too.

For a minute there, with the lighting in the top left picture, that Con Rod looked like it was bent over at a 90* angle, had an "oh shit thats expensive" moment

...^^^... when I was younger, I wish that I had a "mechanic mentor" to build/rebuild muscle car and aircraft engines.

You are very lucky to have had such an opportunity to do so, especially on aircraft.

Good luck and don't have any parts left over.
