Looking for some suggestions. I just ordered the Mt Rainier RTT for my DCSB. I have a mid level KBVoodoo rack currently installed. I will be picking up a CBI T3 rear bumper with the swingout at the end of the month. My concern is the Mt Rainier tent overhang will not clear the tire that will be mounted on the swingarm. Does anyone have any pics.

My options are downgrade to the Mt Shasta and attempt to squeeze my family of 4 in the tent or stick with the Mt Rainier and upgrade to a taller bed rack (last option as I love my current rack)

Great news! I contacted CVT and they said a new hard shell RTT coming mid july. I do not have any specs or pricing information, but photos they sent me look great. I can't imagine they are super duper secret, but I requested permission to post them here, just in case. Waiting for reply.

Yeah, I know. They told me it was coming about 6 months ago when I emailed them to ask what happened to Mt. Thielsen that came out and shortly after disappeared from their site. They told me about hard shell coming, but never mentioned any dates. This time i have dates and photographic evidence. Enhance. Enhance. Enhance :)

So I just called and put down a deposit on a black CVT hard shell. The price is only $1995 for the first 50 buyers. That's a steal if you ask me... I was afraid I would have to drop $4K on a James Baroud. Will keep you guys posted as I get more news.

By how much does the tire on the swingarm interfere with the tent? Could you use a wheel spacers to mount the tire further out to clear the tent?

I don't know yet. I will be installing the bumper next weekend and then driving up to CVT to pick up my tent. Just wondering If I'm going to run into clearance issues. I doubt the spacer will solve the clearance issue. I will need to lower the tire on the swing out vs pushing the tire further out.

Interesting. I wonder where the extra 30lbs is on their hardshell over other ones like Autohome which come in around 130lbs...
