I guess it'll come down to whatever O'Reilly has on the shelf. :p I'll either go Mobil-1 or Castrol. Depends on how attractive the packaging is and the slogans used.
    One has "liquid ball bearings"
The other claims to be "the oil that's changing oil"

    Pick a color.

I've probably used a dozen different types of oils, both synthetic and conventional, in my truck and it doesn't seem to make a bit of difference. Guessing the Tundra will be the same. Even switching back and forth between syntheic hasn't presented an issue. 270k too and the oil stays clean between changes.

My WRX on the other hand, seems to be picky. It didn't like Mobile 1. I lost a quart between changes, which I read relates to the 'energy conserving' rating and something about molecular sheering or something I don't care to understand. Doing well with Castrol Edge.

You all are clearing snow off your trucks, and I'm sitting outside drinking coffee in 70 and sunny weather

But back to today's topics - I run Mobil 1 and haven't been disappointed yet. I also just put on Napa CVs (I was gonna do CVJs but didn't want to pay for it at the time, and I probably should have) and after about 1500 miles and a couple hard wheeling trips..they've held up just fine. I'm betting they'd get rusty real quick though in some spots with the weather in CO.

    Castrol it is then.
There is mention on the interwebs here and there of Mobil-1 not maintaining the fluid level over time.
I was waiting for personal confirmation of this.

But have you seen my CVJ axles, awesome tires, and serious lack of EAF accessories like factor 55 and maxitrax?

I wouldn't trust my own opinion.

Found something similar with our Jetta, it wants Syntec 5W-40. Deviating from that ends up with oil consumption and valvetrain chatter on start.

The mobile one/synthetic burning is more vehicle specific.

Sometimes s2000s had the issue, but they also redline at 9k rpm (ap1), and a lot of the time see close to that if you're driving it how it was supposed to be.

I never saw it on either of mine.

It likely would come with a lot of free extra accessories to fill it up if you wanted them... :boink:

My vote goes to castrol synthetic. It has better looking packaging
