Yes, we are currently working to replenish our inventory so please be patient. We should be back to taking orders in a short time...

I knew I was not alone in being annoyed with the OEM shifting patterns, but never expected to receive the demand that we did over the first few weeks! It is great to see the overwhelming response and feedback! But at the same time, we did not want to continue growing the lead-time until we have a chance to catch up a bit.

In the meantime, we are continuing to ship the existing orders which will all be completed within the lead-time which was posted in the website when you ordered. (possibly sooner)

Keep the reviews coming! And if you dont mind, please submit reviews back to the website as well!

By the way. Regarding the use of OBD-II splitter with multiple devices:

We have done recent testing using a splitter with ShiftSense. We found that using fast-polling devices such as ELM 327 with torque/fusion app did cause a competition for bandwidth over the OBD port, and slowed the performance of the device a bit. This could potentially lead to delayed shift-commands. On the other hand, devices which only use OBD port for power/gps and do not fast-poll for vehicle data may not affect performance in the same way. At this time, we must recommend to NOT use ShiftSense in parallel with other fast-polling OBD devices. Thanks!

Would it be possible to add a BT module to the ShiftSense (I realize that would be a hardware change) that would allow it to be used as an ODBII reader for torque/fusion/carista type apps without having to use a splitter?

I know this isn't the goal of SS, but I'm curious if anyone that has it has experienced smoother downshifts when coming to a stop. The device is supposed to improve shift points on upshifts and downshifts, so I'm hoping this might clear up the Tacoma's desire to slam into second in stop and go traffic. Thanks for any input!

So using a splitter with one of those car insurance issued readers should be okay?

I guess it would depend on which type of data your insurance is trying to collect. If it is only GPS-based position, speed, braking, or VIN then I would not expect an issue. However if they are using it to obtain speed, engine rpm, or other parameters through the vehicles actual CAN network at high-frequency, then it may.

Dude... First rule of business is never turn customers away. You don't see fabricators with 8 week wait times shutting off their business... If anything, the lead time going up is going to increase demand because the hundreds of people who have seen this thread will want to buy theirs before it takes 3 months. In fact, one of the most successful apparel companies online has an entire marketing strategy against "the product that takes 3 months to get because demand is so high". They hire PR firms to advertise this and spend ridiculous amounts of money on digital marketing to get the word out. It's complete BS, they just know it will sell. Not to mention - when running a business, cash flow is king. If you can take in money before you spend it on building the product, you will never find yourself upside down risking your livelihood on credit lines with the hope that the product will sell and that your projections for demand are accurate.

Please... I beg you... Turn your sales back on, just be honest with lead time, even if it's 14 weeks. If you are having major fulfillment issues from demand, hire some people to help with the little things that are non trivial taking too much of your time so you can focus on getting the difficult stuff done quickly.

DO NOT TURN AWAY MONEY BECAUSE YOU'RE DOING TO WELL AT MAKING IT. PLEASE!!!

PS... I would've sent this message privately, but your privacy settings won't allow me to message you... But seriously, you need to turn sales back on...

Agreed just be honest. If they want it they will be glad to wait. Just like preorder on anything else. But, if you are having supply problems that is another story.

Don't worry people will wait for a good product... Hell, I waited like 13 weeks for my BAMF Grille, and I'm not the only one. Anyway, glad I got mine ordered last week.

P.S. @OP This is coming from a place of love.... Well maybe more gratitude. Everyone likes your product so far, and we all want to see you succeed and get your just rewards.

He's not wrong on this. You've put a lot of work into this and it looks to be a great product that people really want. Don't turn them away, just be upfront with the timetables.

Yes, I believe my tacoma downshifts smoother with Shift Sense Pro. I was driving the other day purposely mindful of the downshifting and I did not experience the rugged clunks I do when using Drive.

    OP,
First off, congratulations on the success of the ShiftSense. Well done and well deserved.

For those of us who would like to order, but currently cannot, will you still be offering the current $175.00 sale price after you re-open ordering?
