So i'll probably be buying the Pelfreybilt Aluminum or steel bumper soon.

This is not a durability or weight question. How much will the front end drop after installing aluminum vs steel bumper? is it a noticeable difference?

I do plan on getting a warn winch and an LED bar to go with it. By the way, I do have Icons installed on all fours.

Put 60 lbs of something on your tailgate.

Then put 160 lbs of something on your tailgate.

The front will do the same sag, more or less. See the difference that way.

You'll get a lot less sag with aluminum.

I get it. The front won't have the same sag effect because of the stiffer springs up front. Can you offer any info on the possible sag difference (actual measurements) between the two? Someone with a bumper can you please comment.

The front has different rates springs than the leaf springs.

If you want an accuarate reading, put that weight on the hood of the truck. Then you'll be close enough

I don't have a measurement, but you won't see a lot of sag from aluminum. Maybe .5"

I would expect at least an inch from throwing steel on there though

Go buy 3 50 pound bags of play sand, open the hood and lay one over top on the metal framework over the radiator. Center it and then measure from the fender to the center of the wheel. Then take the other two bags and put one on each side of the existing bag and measure it again. Then return the three bags of sand, done.

I like this idea too. I'm about 175lbs, ill just sit on the front and have the wife measure and see the results. Pelfrey steel bumper is 125lbs. add a warn winch (65lbs for the model I'm looking at) should be around my weight.

Ill assume less for an aluminum setup.

I have the aluminum pelfreybilt center hoop with a warm 8k and led bar. I went with what was available at the time (got a hell of a deal from a local TW Member) if I had to do it again I would go aluminum each time. And I didn't have to swap springs (OME kit)I plan on going steel for the rear however

I have the aluminum bumper with 12,000lb winch and led bar...

My front settled a full inch on the button.

Something to consider though... I installed Boss coilovers up front a year before I got my bumper and never did take measurements of my coilovers settling. Only before lift measurements, and then a full year later with bumper/winch/potential coilovers settling
