It has transformed my truck into what i thought it always should have been, every driving condition has improved ! Driving up Cajon Pass in SoCal i did about 72MPH 5th gear no problem didnt even feel like it was struggling!Hang in there who ever is still waiting your going to be very happy once you get it! :mudding::burnrubber::oldglory:

@DCZ After receiving the latest TSB update last week, I don't like the way my truck shifts from 1-2 with ECT enabled (it shift too late). Will this device improve the shifting from 1st to 2nd in addition to all the other shifting problems? If it wasn't for this delay, ECT seems to work great after the latest TSB update.

On post 287 DCZ say, "Yes, the initial shift into S goes into S4 (or S3 in rare instances) but the device knows this and will immediately index it up or down from there based on the engagement speed. If stopped when you engage it, you will see it shift down to S2, which is the lowest selection provided by the device. Even though you may see S2 on the dash, the truck will still start out from a stop in 1st (S sets upper limit). The reason for not going all the way down to S1 with ShiftSense is because the shifts between 1 and 2 are heavily influenced by torque-convertor operation and slip, which the OEM handles quite well (we tested it down to S1 but in the end felt it was unnecessary to command it to go that low). All shifts 2,3,4,5,6 up and down are handled by the 'box'."

So it doesn't look like the device controls 1st to 2nd. That's too bad because the latest TSB doesn't feel right from 1st to 2nd. I said in ECT mode but I think it has the same problem in S mode with ECT not enabled (I need to confirm).

    a bunch of mods

I fully agree with you that with ECT enabled, the shift from 1-2 always felt too high/harsh/ agressive to me and i didnt like it. With the SS pro engaged, you will no longer need to use ECT to adjust the shift map, so it will use the normal 1-2 shift (similar to 'D'). I always thought the normal D shift 1-2 felt fine; Maybe a tad bit on the low side, but not enough to require correcting it with the SS.

I agree with everyone else who says to turn the ordering back on. As a fellow small business owner (I'm a 1 man show) you may want to take all you can while you can. My business is ridiculously busy during the winter, so I work as much as possible to make what I can while the money is flowing. You have already built a great reputation with a stellar product so people will be willing to wait. You definitely don't want to start producing 1,000 more of these but miss out on sales because they could not order. Being completely honest and up front about the lead time will be key to keeping these customers interested. If you just say "sorry no more orders until I'm caught up," potential customers may either just forget about it, or try to find a different solution (which we know wouldn't be as good as yours). Thanks for producing an awesome product!

The OP is probably just trying to protect himself by not having a gazillion orders stacked up in advance of actual production and shipping...

    Picture this...

The OP keeps accepting orders. He has a backlog of (lets say) 1000 orders. He orders his parts and such to assemble these 1000 orders.
Then some people get tired of waiting and decide to cancel their order.. creating a lot of additional paperwork and headache for the OP.
    Then.. it gets even worse...
Out of the blue, TOYOTA decides "Hey.. this guy is really on to something", and releases TSB-01812 that effectively mimics the OP's shift pattern in regular D mode.
Then the OP's 1000 orders vaporize overnight.. and the OP is stuck with parts to build a thousand Shift Sense devices that he cannot even give away . . .

Plan to get one as soon as the site shows availability.

For those that have theirs, do the OP a favor and write a review on the site. Can't believe there are only 3 reviews.

In the limited highway miles I have driven in my Taco, I would gladly sacrifice a few cents in mpgs vs the insane amount of downshifts that my transmission was making-sometimes into third gear while in cc @70 mph. During a 100 mile round trip drive to Sandusky Ohio this truck shifted out of 6th gear at least thirty times. And mind you, I am in north central ohio where the only inclines are overpasses. I can not imagine what this turd is like to drive in a hilly region. For the record I have never owned another vehicle that has made ONE downshift over this exact stretch of highway. And for the record, my sig 1992 4x4 extra cab would pull a 3000lb boat over those same overpasses with ease.

Again, minimal mpg losses vs thousands of unnecessary of downshifts and upshifts over the lifetime of a transmission and the near frustration of punching this truck right in its Nav unit face. I'll take the higher shift mapping.

Opposite, I am very light-footed (but not limp-wristed)(not that there is anything wrong with that) and my transmission very quickly jumps into the highest possible gear as quickly as possible while getting on the highway. But whenever on cc and a slight incline calls for power to maintain a speed the truck downshifts wildly. Yes, I call dropping into third gear at 70mph wild. Ok, maybe wild is a bit strong.
