I snagged a kingdom 6 with the garage system during this sale a few years ago. Saved a ton money. Then blew the savings on beer.

Ya, I was also able to grab one similarly. Last year, the REI near me offered 40% off to a few customers during the sale and I was one of the lucky guys! They're awesome tents and have plenty of space!

Reviews on Yakima's first attempt into the RTT market don't look that great.
At least if you wanna stay dry.

Seconded on the Ospreys! Bought my Atmos during last year's sale.

Just bought a new Diamondback Bike this morning first thing when I woke up.

Did anyone else get emails or any info from REI about this sale this year? Only reason I knew was because I've been eyeing this bike for months now and asked about the sale so they told me when it was and even let me see the Sale catalog like 4 weeks ago (which I never even got in the mail).

I started with deuter. Liked it a lot. But I upgraded to a bigger bag for longer trips. But for quick weekend trips that don't require bear canisters I will still use the deuter.

Just bought the Kingdom 6 at the used equipment sale for $175. Had 8 inch tear near base that repaired easily. Garage looks great, think I'll use my 20% on it. Does it come with support poles? Also, how did you set up the fly like that? Is it just rolled up halfway? If so, how did you secure it at that spot?

I've been told that REI supports the Sierra Club, who subsequently has been for years and years trying to shut down 4x4 trails all over the country. Especially in Moab, UT. I love their stuff but I get what I can from other providers when I can.

    Food for thought.

They used to, but REI has become much more inviting to offroading the last year or two. Hence them selling RTTs and even REI branded shirts with landcruisers (and similar off-road expo style rigs) on them.

I used to be right there with you, but they seem to be more open to all forms of outdoor rec.

I have a bigger external for longer walks. I use the deuter for search and rescue. It forces me to limit how much gear I can carry. Our packs can get REALLY fucking heavy

You can roll the fly up or back. Has loops all over the place to tie it off. The garage comes with everything you need. Wouldn't be a bad idea to make your own poles. Stock ones are a little sketch in windy conditions

I snagged a 20 oz Yeti Rambler Tumbler. For some reason $23 sounded more reasonable than the $30 MSRP price.

Tried to snag one a couple of weeks ago at Gander Mountain's fake 30% off sale...but the stuff I wanted was only 10% off. REI was a real and honest deal.
