    Workin' on it....
I'm biased but '13 -- dash clock still there, back-up camera feed & compass in the rear view mirror. Mostly got the secondary air injection problems ironed out that seem to have a high incidence on '12's.

Edit: @DustStorm4x4 beat me to it above....

Righto. Bought used maybe 5 years ago with 48k on it. Has 61k now. I don't drive it a ton, and when I do it's always pretty easy, so I'm not too worried I guess.

I'd better stop hijacking OP's thread now :threadjacked:

Chances are, you'll be fine. It's just one of those things to keep an eye on. I'm sure there are thousands of driver's out there who are unaware that these issues even exist.

Agreed, the weather is cool in the city but out here in the boondocks it's completely worthless. Shit does weather maps and forcasts but you'll never have HD signal on a trail to look at that stuff.

It also sucks when the closest city it will give weather for is about 25 miles from where you live. It should be in the rear view mirror as usual, not something you have to press a bunch of buttons for.

Everyone talking smack about '06 2nd Gens better stop it right now!

Just rolled over 172,000 miles on mine this weekend. It's perfect and nothing bad will ever happen to it!

I went from an '01 to a '15 and love it. If you can get into a '13-'15 in good shape, do it.

You'll miss some things about the 1st gen. For example, the fact that you can actually look over the hood and see what you're about to run over. 1st gens are nice compact trucks, 2nd gens are more extra-medium.

Not true. My 2012 has temp, compass and rear back up in the mirror.

Secondary air pump fixed with a $12 part.

Right now I have one '80 two '96 and recently bought an '06 ... all of them have their weak and strong sides. But where I live insurance and registration is dirt cheap so I don't even bother selling older Toyotas anymore.. lol You just need to have a little luck when you buy used. I would not worry too much about issues other than rusted frames that pretty much all older Toyotas have.

I'm considering selling my trusty '04 for a double cab (for future kids) and also an automatic so my wife can drive it when needed...but have no idea how much to sell it for. If I can't get a good price then I'll keep it. Would love to get a 2nd gen double cab auto with b612 prefer. I love my truck and have put a lot of work into it...but would love a 2nd gen. Any help for a newbie?

That's a low mile truck. If it was a TRD double cab you could sell that up here fast for $13k, assuming it runs well and has been maintained well (timing belt lately?). Not sure about the AZ market though.

Thanks! I was just looking at the truck's for sale on here which I hadn't been to before. It's an xtra-cab, new timing belt, regular oil-changes, and all the goods. Would LOVE to get $14k out of it. We aren't in a position to buy something more than $15k for a 2nd gen double cab, just trying to see if I'm being realistic or not haha. Appreciate the feedback. She runs great!
