If you use a single piece of plywood for the bed platform, you can use it as a ramp for dragging critters (like deer) into the bed. Just a thought.

So my valve gasket had a leak and I was due for new spark plugs at 107kkk so here it is.

There was a small leak so I changed out the gasket.

I wanted to protect everything best I could before cleaning the valve cover to keep everything clean. Valve cover was a PITA to get off but it went on easily.

    Gasket sealant from someone else.

Spark plugs in order replaced with NGK's

Replace the seal, boot and spring in the ignition coils since I had everything ripped apart.

Nothing went easy today I over torqued my valve cover in accident my torque wrench and I had some communication issues today lol but so far no leaks but I will keep checking as I drive.

you are so gutsy!!!! i would be freaked out to remove my valve cover!!!! glad it went well though and still doesnt deter me from buying used vehicles!

back on track with this thread:

i got my 12V ARB dual compressor hooked up to my NSA trail toys box and used it to air up the queen lightspeed air mattress. That thing puts out some cfm! Now i just need to move the air source out from under hte hood and move my shut off valve near the air source so i dont burn my hand on the hot AF compressor bits when closing off the tank after use. for anyone considering an NSA trail toys relay box, do it already, its so sweet controlling things with the push of a button.

next up: winch wiring to the NSA box so i can control my winch in and winch out with the NSA remote..

NilLight flushmount LED back up lights.

I'm normally a fan of the right tool for the job but without having a compressor right now half my tools are useless. I needed up mounting these lights using a sawsaz, drill, and a file.

first due to the tow hitch there is a small window that will fit these 4 inch lights. My bumper has been dented several times so my goal was to get it to sit as flush as possible and pretty went out the door.Nilight does not come with any instructions or a template so I have to make my own. Considering the tools I used and the dents I'm happy.

Created a custom bracket to mount relays, fuse block, and breaker on. Used 16 g sheet metal that was 8x24 inches.

Bent the first part to mount it near the brake booster. Tapped the holes for 8x25x120 bolts.

Drilled holes then measure for the cuts with everything squared. Cut then mocked up and pre drilled holes etc

Made a second bend and used that as a leg to bolt near the breathers in the fender. Too often I see brackets without legs which leave too much movement and is hard on the equipment.

Made some more cuts bolted everything in place then mounted the breaker, fuse box then made the cables and shrink wrapped everything.

Left room to expand and add more relays or a larger fuse box. Sheet metal cost 11 bucks so well worth it. I'll add some better pictures later.

Here's how I cut the leg to support the bracket.
I could see a meme in my head about how to avoide safety briefs but I had to cut it with a band saw owell.

That's nice to have the gromets there it will look nicer when you wire it. I thought about doing something like that but I will see what it looks like first. I read a lot about wiring and literally read a book and feel like I can wire anything on my truck now. I'm sure you'll be fine!

you can always add the holes and grommets if you want to though, you have the ultimate blank slate haha. I also cheated and bought my panel that the NSA box sits on. A forum member made it though, so i bought it off him. But as long as what you have done works for you thats what matters.

Taped the wires together in layers so they were not too thick to go through the hole. I lubed them and pulled them through the gromet where the hood latch comes through. Then I pulled them up to the switch holes.

I still refuse to buy a dremel so I used a steak knife and file to make the hole larger for the rocker switches. Then I jumped the power and the ground. This allowed me to only have to pull 3 wires into the cab.

Then I hooked everything to the Blue Sea fuse box checked everything out with the meter then finished running wire to the lights. I used weather proof butts instead of male and female clips so hopefully the connections will stay dry now.

    Finished product.

These are the 18w Nilight flush mount lights. I believe they were around 20 bucks.

The white looks like a coil wire for the relay. I could be wrong.
