    Can I swap a complete rear driveshaft from a 2003 3.4 v6 Xtra cab to a 2002 2.7 i4 xtra cab?

There is a used 1listed on CL all rebuilt (claiming) new carrier bearing and u joints, for 200$. says he spent 200$ for service, and ended up buying a custom 1 piece. From the listings I've viewed, seems to be a slightly different part #, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it is indeed a different part

Seems that auto or manual may be more important of a question that 6 or 4 cylinder. Obviously the cab length too, but they are the same.

Seems that The manual version of the same engine seems to be 4" longer (front portion anyways) than the auto version, so from that I'm gonna say they not identical(the donor shaft is from v6 auto). Not sure about the rear portion. Maybe some compatable parts. The rear part of mine (propeller shaft) is the suspect of upcoming failure

for what its worth I was told 4c and 6c trannys are way different and no way to mate them, I would be shocked if the driveshafts weren't also different size and lengths

Check the part numbers up in the links I posted - looks like they might be the same. I didn't want to go and say they were w/o confirming from one of the parts dealers. Don't want to be that guy when I'm not sure. Drive shaft flanges might be universal parts on Toyotas so the lengths seem to be the factor that will make or break it :notsure:

ya, I mean if the part numbers match they match, just seems strange if the trannys are different sizes and lengths then what gives if the shafts are the same?

maybe its just the engine mounting positions and that's why the shafts are the same? :notsure:

I'm thinking they might have engineered the housings to make sure that they would match up to use the same driveshafts to cut down on cost. Just my guess though.
