    has anyone else seen this??

i hated it-- it pretty much reaffirms why i hate disaster movies. in every single one ive seen, its the same thing-- eminent disaster looming, black guy dies first, conspiracy theorists say its all the governments fault, "oh my god! where going to die...!! wait, no we were saved just in the nick of time", some ordinary jack-off whose wife left him and took the kids becomes a superhero and risks his life, goes on some sort of suicide mission, suicide mission accomplished but "oh no the hero may have died" long pause, hero emerges-- "oh my god were gonna die again...wait no saved in the nick of time again" hero's estranged wife decides that she is going to reconcile.... everyone lives happily ever after... blah blah blah

am i just jaded to these kinds of movies or are there other people that agree with me??

My roomate saw it and said it was absolutely the worst movie ever made....ever. He mentioned something about building a ship in mt everest to escape in? Im wondering how the sea level raised up that high if this is true.

Yeah, it was typical Hollywood drivel. But after seeing GI Joe and Terminator: Salvation, 2012 was oscar worthy.

[IMG] agreed! It wasn't that bad. Sure it was predictable, but had some pretty sweet effects.

It is a good "compromise" movie to settle on when the girlfriend/wife won't watch the Hurt locker or Zombieland, and I sure as hell won't watch "the time traveler's wife"

I saw "2012" the other day and it was okay. It was pretty much the same movie as "The Day After Tomorrow." But all in all, I'd give it a 6 out of 10.

Also, the sea levels raised as high as Mt. Everest, but much of Africa was left untouched.

Movies like these I watch for the sound quality. I love to make my surround sound work. I love these movies for this purpose only.

I kinda like disaster movies. Cause there is chance it could happen that adds to the "effect" of the movie. Just like zombie movies most of the guys/gals like them cause we sometimes think it could happen.

Yeah I totally agree with you on that one!! Well its like 9/11 with Nicholas Cage, I was going to boycott that movie big time. But I ended up watching it cause of the stories I heard about it. I thought it was just going to be about the fire dept. and how many guys they lost but they were barely in the movie. It was about 2 cops so it showed that it wasnt only FDNY that were heroes that day.

    Terminator Salvation was terrible.

Ok, this movie as an action flick was good, and if you go into the movie wanting just that than you're good to go. But if you have several more brain cells or are a Terminator fan then this was definitely a rental.

The movie leaves you with no emotional connection to any of the characters, and if not for Sam Worthington the acting would have gotten an "F". Honestly, the T-franchise has given us so much depth yet McG and crew seemingly decides to skip any script with any substance for the sake of action. Way to think outside the box, Hollywood.

Many things were just plain ridiculous and at times I wondered if I was watching The Matrix. I think skynet city needed more fire-spewing pipes....not. Amphibious snake bots? Honestly? And who would have thought that people in post-apocalyptic Earth would have such white teeth and healthy, shiny hair. And the main computer thing felt the need to explain to Worthington's character their evil devious plot (I know it was for the audience but still). What do you care, you're a computer! Kill him already!! Little things like this made the movie so unbelievable.

Female pilot chick: "I just met you 4 hours ago, let me snuggle up to you. You have such a strong heart. I loves a man wif such a strong heart beats."

    Stellar script, Hollywood.

2012 was the stupidest fucking movie I have ever seen. PERIOD! I would rather watch any muppet movie, or even a ....gulp.....Keanu reeves flick, than watch that fucking shit again....
