I regeared my truck not long with 4.88 gears, new bearings etc. I want to change to 4.56. Would I need to buy the master install kits again for this?

A buddy of mine got his truck regeared locally when it only had about 25k miles on it. The diff shop didn't use a master kit and only needed new carrier bearings and shims IIRC

Nope. You would not. Long as the shop doing the install can remove the bearings if needed properly and they will need to on the pinion for sure you shouldn't need them.

Why now? Bad timing, I'm trying to save for a rear swing out, and this is what I find in the GB:frusty:

TW just wants to suck the money right out of my bank account:rofl:

Are there any 4:56 gears out there for the 16 Tacoma instead of 4:88 ? I drove someone's 17 that was regeared to 4:88 I was not impressed.I drove the truck for 35 minutes and his best gas mileage was only 15.2 MPG I get 16 to 17 with my stock gears Plus I noticed his MPG bar was not working.

The bumper was my plan too, but this opportunity is only for a limited time, go with gears now and postpone the bumper for a little longer!
