Yeah, because pickup trucks, by their nature, are soooo awe inspiring to run the roads with. I would put them right up there with sports cars like the Viper and Corvette.

JD Powers likely thinks a freshly graded graveled road is 4 wheeling it.

When people stop buying them... Which won't happen.

I think that Toyota would have to take a significant market share slap in order to take a step into the unknown and really make that change that we are all looking for. Think new Ranger, new Frontier, new Jeep truck... Anything could happen, but don't hold your breath. People keep lining up at the dealerships.

That said they rested on their laurels for the current gen and people seem to be having a lot of problems anyway. We have a very vocal and distinguished bunch here, but still there actually does seem to be a few more issues than one would expect.

Best truck I've owned to date. Let me guess, the Honda Ridgeline is the most soul inspiring to drive right? o_O

I would agree. Sometimes the lack of torque bugs me a bit, but overall I think it's an OUTSTANDING vehicle.

And it looks better than any truck in the universe.

The Honda Ridgline car don't belong in the same conversations as the Tacoma

That two would be my only complaint. Although the ECT button does help with throttle response and low end acceleration.
