anyone ever installed some steering rack bushings from energy suspension?? anyone got any part numbers or links to the best place to get them from. i am wanting to get a set for my 04, as the stock bushings dont really look too good. also......i wouldnt mind changing out the sway bar bushings at the same time. anyone got a link for those also?? much appreciated!!:)

ok........i found what i believe to be the correct part numbers for the steering rack bushing kit and also the anti-sway bar bushing kit!! now......gotta find the best place to order them. if they arent too much, i may order them shortly........should be a worthy mod for worn out bushings.

Get both sets from wheelersoffroad.com, good prices and customer service. Wheelers has the correct sized sleeve for one of the bushings for the rack.

They look right, and I have heard good things about Energy Suspension.

I put in the Total Chaos ones in...wouldn't recommend them to anyone, the urethane is way too soft. With minimal torque on the bolts the uerthane just extruded right out like butter...kind of defeating the whole purpose!

here's what i did today, since i had noticed that my steering was really shitty on the used truck i bought..........got my wife to turn the steering wheel back and forth, while i slid under the truck to look. holy crap........no wonder the steering sucks.......every steering rack bushing under there is completely shot!!! the whole friggin rack moves about an inch and a half, close to 2 inches in both directions. that explains why the hell the steering is loose as hell, and the play in the wheel is funky as shit!! boy.....the dealership did one hell of a job with their 160 point inspection!! i got the wrap warranty that i paid good money for....gonna put that to use!!! this pisses me off that they did absolutely nothing to the truck when i bought it.......only an oil change:rolleyes:, and they sure as hell didnt check anything!!!

ya'll think the wrap warranty(which i was told covers everything, except brake pads and windshield wiper blades) should cover this?? i think the dealer will have to put a whole new steering rack in there, since they dont sell just the bushings!!! im gonna go to the dealership and complain like a sumbitch about this!!! then when they fix it.......still gonna put some energy suspension bushings in there!!! also......gonna show them the worn out ass sway bar bushings!!! cant believe thye skimped out on doing the stuff the right way with this truck.........i dont give a rats ass if it is used!!!
