If what "paranoid56" says is true; "Also, OP, dont forget import brokerage fees. that will be another 400ish bucks", $1288 is shipped to the USA. Shipping to your door would need to be figured.

Oh, I believe you. Also, your one piece shaft should sit lower than a two piece. Regardless, it sounds like a no go. I doubt any state would be happy with this mod but some of us can get away with a little more. I have kept my factory tank...you know...just in case.

the one piece shaft is 4" OD and at full bump goes up so high the OE carrier bearing cross member had to be completely removed...no way no how that would work :/

Just to be sure I am clear. I am working on the saving end. a purchase will still depend on the timing and if I have the $$. I am not committing yet so I don't want to get the hopes up on the list yet. As soon as I have the $$ Ill post, "IM IN". until then, I'm just a watcher.

Might be interested in this. It would be nice to see how bad the the taco lean will be with a full tank of fuel.

Is this tank lined or stainless? I was reading through a thread in expedition portal about a member who got an extended range gas tank, and because of the ethanol in gas here in CA, it actually caused a thin film rust coating in the tank since ethanol attracts water. He was left stranded a few times due to fuel pump failure because rust would gum up the screen. He eventually switched back to OEM.

That was the CES tank, I believe. Not sure about the LRA tank. It looked like it may have a thin film coating of some sort inside. I've had my tank in for a while now with no issues. That's all I know.

My insurance agent believes that it would be a problem to modify my truck by installing a non dot compliant fuel tank. In other words, my commercial insurance might be void if I make non compliant mods. Basically they might not pay a claim if the vehicle is substantialy altered. Not a big deal unless you're using your Tacoma for work or as in my case to drive to different installations facilities and locations. It was enough for me to prioritize other mods and stop looking into long range tanks.

I thought the same thing but I had "the dealership" install an Icon stage 7 w/all pro expedition springs in back to get over my 31" tires and improve the handling off road and on. Apparently dot is ok with this? But not replacing stock fuel tank? Didn't make sense to me but I'm not going to argue with them. There's a dot# for jerry cans and rotopax fuel tanks and there's supposedly a number for a "fuel transfer tank" Titan I believe? I wasn't interested in a transfer tank but have used plenty of them in the past with diesel fuel. I still have a 120 gallon one with a high speed pump if anyone is interested. It fits a Chevy 3500 and 2500 long bed.

Interest seems to have dissipated some. I would like to keep this going, just needing people to commit.
