I plan on hiring the uhaul guys when I move. Although most of my furniture isn't coming with me, so it should be pretty easy. Mostly boxes. Still worth the money to pay. I'm too old for this moving crap. I have neck issues as well and had the top to vertebrae worked on in surgery. So I don't want to screw that up more than it already is.

I looked at uhaul, and they are so damn expensive...for 2 people they wanted between $100-$150 an hour!

My buddy had a moving group come out because his gf at the time refused for us to do it ourselves. Ended up wasting pretty much $350 on two guys when it could of taken us another hour to get shit done. If you got the physique then I say get shit done, but I appreciate a good workout when I can get one. Beats pounding the treadmill.

    broken neck :(

I physically COULD do it if I wanted... I would just be in a tremendous amount of pain for the next 3-4 days.... so for instance, when @boogie3478 , @quis23 , and @fatfurious2 and I installed my lift kit, we did it on the ground at my house. It saved me hundreds by doing it myself, but I also hobbled around for the next few days haha

I love free shit as much as the next guy, but I can't take them. Headlights are different in 2005-2011.

    This! Might do this instead.

I might order some today...can you help me too?! Thanks for meeting me yesterday btw.
Myself included. Check my profile info.

    I am in.

From what I have heard from coworkers that used them, they charged a $200 initial charge for the first 2 hours. Then any time after that they charge another hundred an hour.

Yep that's what happened with us...then they expect lunch and tip as well. Also if you don't have tape and blankets then they will try to charge more for the "premium packaging."

that's 1! 3 more spots left for anyone else interested!

see... I'd much rather a flat rate.... I pay $100 cash per person to load my stuff in to a truck, and unload the box / piece of furniture to the correct room.... that way, with 4 people @ $100 each, it will cost me approximately $500 to move including the Uhaul, and we should easily be able to get moved in 1 day... I really dont have a lot of stuff. haha I'm currently in a mostly empty 1600 sq ft town house. haha it will be 1 Uhaul load, MAYBE 2)

I always had college buddies help me out. The game was whenever one needed to be moved you made yourself available. Also helps I have a decent cart to move stuff with at my rents so I just pull that out. Might take double the trips with it, but it can haul some pretty complex furniture. Only the Navy has ever paid for movers for my family.

    I like that...a lot.

Right now I like the idea of the matched reflector bowl with the rest black. Thanks for the suggestion!

yea my company paid to move me from Hawaii to Ashburn.... and the Army paid for majority of my moves before that..... but I HATE moving.... so I try to make it as easy as possible.

    I concur with this.

that was my philosophy when I moved to Hawaii..... it ended up costing me SO MUCH MONEY.... I sold everything in Colorado and now I have to re-buy everything.... lawn mowers, tool boxes, portable garage shelving, storage containers, tools, yard equipment..... not to mention the other stuff like an office desk, couches, kitchen table, patio set, grill, smoker, etc.....

it ended up costing me THOUSANDS to replace.... I told Karen that we will never get rid of everything and start over haha
