I just spent the extra money a couple years ago when my stock drive shaft needed rebuilt. Instead of rebuilding it I went to Bill and had him make me the one piece. I lifted the truck @ 93k. The stock drive shaft lasted 10k after that before the CB went out on me. Of course I had the drop kit and the shims installed. But it still didn't last. I am glad that I went with the one piece.

Aluminum would be the way to go with a long bed as far as length is concerned. That doesn't mean it would be the best option if you plan to wheel your truck. That would suck to spend even more just to go and mess it up.

Wherever i pop out of Wyoming and in the general direction of glacier. I'll have time on my side so i don't mind the scenic route.

From there, into Canada towards banff.

I should have a ton of time to kill, but I'm starting to get quite excited about Alaska and Baja. :taco:

Zero experience off-roading there but I do remember people talking years ago about the Backside of Tetons (Idaho) and how beautiful the view is and no one visits that side.

So odds are you will go north into billings. Or bozeman depending if you cut through yellowstone. If you want mountains and pretty views than keep going west throught Butte, missoula, up to flathead. then around the lake to Kalispell. The group in the MT thread will be able to give you better info on the trails they know them more than me I just knew the area around Butte. But that will lead you up to Kalispell and Glacier.

Man, we need to create a thread we can point people too: off-roading guide to Colorado. Much easier then answering 10-15 threads a year about visiting here.

Has anybody worked with a shop in the Denver area to sandblast/ re-coat a first gen frame? Looking at one with a some rust but no holes yet, and wondering roughly how much I'm looking at to fix it or if I should just keep looking.

You are going to want a dip and epoxy coating. I have no clue who does that though. Those typically rust from the insides out.

Don't look at any S America pics, the Ande's are just a continuation of the same mountain chain.

The Andes are also part of the American Cordillera, a chain of mountain ranges (cordillera) that consists of an almost continuous sequence of mountain ranges that form the western "backbone" of North America, Central America, South America and Antarctica.

I've got a tour guide for the colder months from Argentina. :bananadance:.

They told me to drive South to the Darien Gap. I'll have to see if they want to be my guides there as well since my gringo ass would get dead real fast.
