Maybe not a whole decision, but a large part of it depends on the interior.

After all, the interior is where you'll be spending most of your time with the vehicle.

If you don't like it, it's going to be an ongoing irritation until you get rid of the vehicle.

Completely agree. There is a point where helping others...isn't. I am getting ready to order my first Taco after lengthy test drives of all competitors including the Ridgeline, the twins, even an F150 Eco. There really is no comparison to me for a vehicle with both Toyota's longer term quality (assumed of course based on my Toyota experiences) and a "real" truck. The warnings and negativity quickly grow old...trade or sale if you don't like.

I own a 2016 TRD Sport. 0 problems so far.

I also have a 2015 Yukon XL for my business. I like driving it, and it works great for my business. But, it has had its share of problems. It has 107k miles on it now. Last month, the pump in the transmission went out and the transmission cooler line was leaking. Then, right after getting it back, the condenser went out. The transmission was covered by power train warranty (had 99,752 miles on it - note: GM only covers powertrain to 60k miles on the 16s). But the condenser ran about $700.00 to replace. I was told that I was actually one of the lucky ones. Usually, the radiator is leaking by now and also needs to be replaced.

If you own one of these trucks, your condenser will fail. I have three friends with same truck, all have failed. To top it off, the condenser is on national back order, and there are no aftermarket ones available because of demand. The dealership I go to buys all the aftermarket ones they can find. Luckily they had one hidden for special customers, and my advisor was able to get it. I called a different dealership and inquired about the part, and they said good luck getting one. They had 11 cars down waiting for parts from GM already. To top it off, GM (corporate) has some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced.

If anyone thinks that GM is any better, think again. Their product and service are the worst. If anyone makes the mistake of buying one of their pieces of shit that now only have a 60k miles powertrain warranty, you better get an extended warranty and get rid of it before it is up. My transmission repair, had it not been under warranty would have been $3,000.00.

Oh, and the dealership has already told me to start saving. 100% of the lifters fail on these trucks to the tune of about $2,000.00. That is thanks to their wonderful Active Fuel Management. Google Active Fuel Management. If you own one of their products with it, you will cry.

Had two Chevy trucks. Both shit the bed within 5000 miles after the warranty went out. Depreciation was bad enough but issues immediately after warranty laspe made me say "no more" and have been in a Tacoma eleven years since.

Oddly enough my 2011 GMC Sierra Denali was flawless, inside and outside the warranty coverage period. I wish I could say the same for my Turd Gen!

Ever drive out in rural or agricultural areas? Next time you do, pay attention to how many old fords, GMs and Rams you see running down the road.
