I have 2" lift in the rear and shoehorned a 10" in. I'd suggest removing your rear springs and going full bump to where your tires would just about hit. Then measure that from mount to mount. Then droop it out fully and take that measurement to really see what you can put in there without custom fab.

Did you regear yet? I'm looking into the costs now. Considering I already have an Grizzly Zip Locker in the rear, I can sell that and buy 2 ECGS Diffs with 4.88's and ARB's for about $3k net. Or I can have a local guy put 4.88's and a front ARB in for about $2600. Seems like it's worth the extra $400 to get 2 brand new ARB lockers and a 5 year warranty?

not yet, i want to though. Thinking 4.10s or 4.88s, im only leaning 4.88s because currently i have 3.73s and i dont feel 4.10s would be a big enough upgrade to justify the cost to regear.

    i think after $2,600, $400 aint shit

Go 4.88's to prepare for 37's. Thats what I'm doing. 100% agree with $400 not being anything after $2600. Might as well bite the bullet once and not look back. Hahaha ouch.

I think a lot of people are liking the 4.0 more. My buddy doesn't seem to be getting that great of mileage so the change doesn't seem worth it

Parts are where all the money goes. That 5th gen probably has $40k in parts. Luckily he owns the shop, so there isn't a mark up on labor, but you still have salaries or wages to pay and the overhead of the shop.

It's just another thing where it's cost vs. benefit. Like SDHQ's bullshit sliders that are chromoly and $1k a set. No reason to be made out of chromoly other than you can tell people they're chromoly. Same thing when doing a SAS. How big of Brakes do I really need? Should I powdercoat the housing? What link material? What joints?

    Basically everything.

Ya but fuck it. Front and rear lockers. 10-11 inches of front travel and 37's. Driven carefully should get me as far as I need to go for now. And will be utterly bad ass.

My swing out is gonna need some beefing up to hold a 37. It already bent into the hatch with 35's. I think it will be fairly expedition capable still though. Basic engine cage and get rid of the inner fenders.
