I was thinking of having a certain folder that when I put something in it, it immediately syncs it with the cloud. that way it would be like choosing which ones to save without having to do too much.

Have you thought of just getting OneDrive or something similar. With the OneDrive app on my phone it automatically syncs photos i take to OneDrive and then I can access them on my computer or via a browser.

Google Photos is awesome. Every time I take a picture, a copy goes up there.

Interview questions - So tomorrow I'm interviewing to hire a computer repair person. This job will have to repair Apple and HP computers, iPads and printers. My expectation is they will be doing a lot of hands on work. Needless to say somebody that's afraid of a screwdriver isn't going to to be a good fit.

Other than the infamous "what is your greatest weakness?" question, what question/questions would you ask if you were at the interview table?

Give the person a few problem scenarios. Ask them to summarize what needs to be done and how they would prioritize the work. This tests if they were paying attention, work assessment, and time management.

That and they should always work from simplest to most complex.

If a user reports no internet access, they might start by checking their network cable for instance. Not by looking at the switch config for that floor.

"I'm just going to restart every server with DNS roles on it. That should fix it!"

I find most issues are simple or a user issue.

Unless, of course, I did something the day before and it impacted something else that I hadn't thought of. That's happened a few times!

Or the occasional hardware failure, but that's less and less common these days.

Speaking of DNS, seems my laptop was using ipv6 instead of ipv4 for the last couple days. Seems it was taking forever to get DNS lookups. Are there still a lot of companies that haven't figured out ipv6 yet? Bad 6to4 gateways? Disabled ipv6 on my machine, and the Internet is fast again.
