Yes - Matt / Whitebelt will have the option to do that because HE has the second chip being sent to him so HE will have two chips!

Again that was a one on one conversation that he shared so don't jump to and conclusions guy!

 

OP web site says "sold out." OP also posted they would honor and extend initial pricing once sales open again for same number of days sales were suspended. No clue when that may be. Just have to keep an eye out on their web page. I read OP email on chip update to indicate orders placed but not shipped, in process, and future orders will receive updated chip. At order 1150 I am good with that.

 

I am order 1097, and I received shipping notification last night. But am unsure if this will be new chip or old chip. I placed my order exactly a week before it shipped when it stated there was about a week lead time, but no email about possibly switching chips. So I'm assuming they already moved to the new chip by my order number, I guess?

 

I emailed their info address on post 1 asking that the OP or rep give some clarity to this new information regarding the throttle mapping changes/new chip.

 

I would think all the new items that where backorderd will ship with one chip.. The new one!

 

To provide some clarity on your recent questions:

Any order which was shipped after Saturday, May 20 and any future shipments have the updated programming! Anyone whos product shipped prior that date has the original programming and has already been notified with an option to update free of charge, (if they wish), by swapping a chip.

We are planning to open up ordering again this week and I will let you know when that happens. We are really excited about the great feedback we have been receiving so far! We will continue to try to keep leadtimes at a minimum as we keep up with customer demand. We do fully expect that leadtimes will improve as we continue to procure additional components and hardware.

I also got an email today about the new chip with revised 4th/5th low-throttle shift point. I think this will resolve my main complaint with the unit. I'm thrilled with the customer service. Thank you!

 

Just checked my junk folder and noticed the email in there. I have requested the new chip and I, too, think that will fix my only issue w/ this unit. Outside of the 4th to 5th shift, I really like it.

I have to say, not having to have the transmission downshift when I come up on a little hill is rather nice to me. I think this will help keep the transmission from having to shift so much in the long run that I would not be upset by a small loss in mileage that I have noticed so far. For the record, it was less than 1 MPG, so I'm still pretty good. It's nice having a bit more power without the need to shift to get it.

 

Do you have a eta for sending those chips out?

 

Any word on when the new chip will send by those with the first batch or so of orders ?

 

@JoeWillie .... I totally agree with you..... My truck's CC was way too aggressive for my liking as well.....and it would take forever to get back into 6th in CC after going over the hill.

After I filled the tranny it was way better...then I got the TSB... Now it's fine, as far as I'm concerned.

First thing to do is make sure it has enough juice in it and get the TSB.

Given the large step in gearing from 4 to 5, I believe that the old chip is probably better for towing loads...

You should not notice a difference at all between the two for towing. The update involved lowering the 'minimum' shift-up speed for 4-5, but did not fundamentally change the slope of the shift mapping at all. What it does do is provide shift up to 5 at lower speed for very low throttle positions. While pulling a trailer you will be typically on the throttle more so this will not come into play. It will continue to hold 4 (at lower speeds) as desired.
