I agree, but I got 4300 off sticker on my Taco. 40k is still too much for a mid sized GM product that has a history of depreciating quicker than shit and not holding up.
I'll take my 32K TRDOR auto 7 times a week and twice on Sunday before I pay 40K for that.

We will see how resale holds up. Right now Toyota initial quality and reliability scores not as good as GM surprisingly. Maybe the first time we have ever seen that

There's a reason they went bankrupt and WE had to bailed their sorry A$$es out, most ppl aren't naive enough to believe they are making any progress on quality.
They look real good, good styling, but not if you need something to get you from point A to point B reliably an umpteen times while ppl pay the note on it.

But there's a fool born everyday lolo!

That's great...I am sure Canadian or Mexican factories would be happy to here that!

To be fair...they had metal dashboards...and not nearly the regulation in the 60-70 era.

Most unhappy people dump their Tacoma and never come back. Several here have traded for Silverados I know @Threerun still comes around and he dumped his Tacoma for one. No issues with his from what I've seen. Tracks with all the other feedback I've had on GM lately. As I said earlier my 2011 was great too....never a single issue with it in over 3 years.

Good point Frkypunk, there was very little plastic save for the vinyl roofs in those days, everything lasted a long time till now.
GM has major issues with its active fuel management system among many others, not my cup of tea.
