Probably has been put on the back burner for the 3rd gen.

Looking through SaBellCo's website, seeing new designs for Ford pickups, and probably developing for Chevys next. You manufacture for the largest markets, and 3rd gen Tacoma sales are probably too small to consider yet.

We are still working on the 2016+, just behind in getting it done. We did have to adjust our processes for the Tundra and F-Series and switched our cad-cam program's to a common tool. The newer Tacoma is the next project on our radar. We have a design, but have to get it in production. Once we get the 2016+ Tacoma out we will move on to the Dodge and GMC/Chevrolet's.

We are only a year old and are learning and listening to the quality feedback. We want to only deliver a quality and superior product.

Thank you all again for your support.

What is the likelihood that the 3rd generation Tacoma device will be complete and ready to ship by the end of June? I work overseas in the Middle East and my Taco is garaged at my dad's house in AZ. I will be taking the truck on at extended road trip in July and it will be in many high risk areas in SoCal.

If the product is not ready in time, I'll need to install all the other mods. I'll only be on the ground for about three days before the trip starts and will not have time to go shopping for solutions. I want to purchase anything I need on line and ship it to AZ in time!

I was disappointed with mine for the price. The split O rings are cheap and wouldn't stay in. Solid correctly sized would have been better.

I think the hose clamp way and stripping out the head would be almost as good security for a fraction of the price.

Either one will deter a crackhead and you'll probably need a peanut grinder to get either one off and that would probably alert some people.

Sorry to disappoint, I certainly respect your opinion.

The gaskets are actually not solid O rings as a solid O ring would not allow the part to be installed any easier. The issue is at the edge of the hinge it is the biggest diameter and once you get it past that point the diameter gets smaller. If I open up the inner diameter any more to make it easier to install like when I did the v2.0 mods some said it was loose and others said it fit perfect.

As for the hose clamp, it is a cheaper alternative, if you strip the head you could prevent the screwdriver from removing it. Our part has always been an additional option. Each of our parts are machined from 6061-T6 Aluminum and powder coated. We are a small family business and do not make these in huge volumes and are not interested in off-shoring our parts just to make them cheaper. We have always offered customer satisfaction, service and have gone to all levels to try and please most all of the fellow Tacoma owners.

Though I realize we cannot please everyone, I am happy to say we have pleased many Tacoma owners in the US, Canada and Mexico. I am grateful to have the opportunity to help others with a part that was originally made for my 2013 Tacoma TRD 4x4 (with the original tailgate :) because I did not like what was available on the market and read how others have been locks have been bypassed.

I would truly like to know if there has been a tailgate stolen with our part installed vs a hose clamp or less expensive devices. If anyone knows of any please post or drop me a PM.

Living in one of the high theft areas in southern California, I have our lock and my custom cable mod on my 2013. I do not worry or loose any sleep and I sleep well knowing there are other trucks with our lock installed.

And if I have not said it enough epoxy putty in the head of the fastener can really trip out that crack head. It is mind boggling for them. I think they really are saying "who does this" and then they move on and steal an un-protected tailgate.

Whatever you decide to use, just use something and spread the word.

    Best regards,

Though this really is bad for the neighbor, it reaffirms our purpose. Thanks you all again for the support and comments.

More progress on the 2016+, had a successful fitting on a 2016, but have some more adjustments to make before it is ready for prime time.

CNC programming is basically done on the 3rd Gen locks, Have to make a few adjustments then re-verify fitment. Then we will be making some Beta versions.

Was thinking 10 locks to start, then make adjustments based on feedback (A Requirement for Beta Test). I will be looking for (5) 2016's and (5) 2017's. PM me if interested.

    Thanks for all the responses.

It would probably be beneficial if the 10 locks we beta test are local to SoCal Torrance, LA or Orange County area. This way if there are issues we can get them addressed quickly.

Once we get through this I will release them for sale.

I just want to make sure we are providing the best possible solution.

    Thanks again
