My truck so far; KMC Enduro, Satoshi, BLHM, black badges

This was what my truck looked like in November when I bought it. It's a 2005 PreRunner Sport.





The previous owner likes boobs...



This is what my truck looks like now. Mods include...

16x8 KMC Enduro wheels in matte black with center caps!!!
Black McGard spline drive lugs and locks
265/70 16 Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo 2 tires
White on white Satoshi Grill (thanks to Aaron aka blackhawke88)
Eyelids painted by Aaron
Black Headlight Mod and black badges done with matte black paint
De-boob stickered the shell and in it's place added a tribute to two of racing's greatest drivers and one of the best sports.

So here it is...















Here's how I did the centercaps. As you may or may not know, the centercaps don't work with these wheels on this truck. There isn't enough room. I thought they looked goofy anyways because they stick out too far. So what the guy who helped me at Discount Tire suggested (he drives an X-Runner) was to cut the caps down and wrap them with something like duct tape and wedge them in the hole. So I did something similar...

Here is the cap uncut... way too long.



Using a scratch awl (you can use a nail if you don't have one) I put a mark 2 1/4 of an inch from the open end of the cap. This will make the cap stick out about 3/4 of an inch when installed. I put about 5 marks around the cap.



Using the marks as a guide, I placed painter's tape around the cap as a guide for cutting. Looking back, it would probably be wiser to put the tape on the closed part of the cap side of the mark in case your saw slips. That way you won't scratch up the good part of the cap.



Then use a hack saw and carefully cut through the cap. It cuts very easy.



I used bits of 3M molding tape seperated about a tape widths apart. I tried just wrapping the whole thing with one continuous strip but it was too thick and therefore wouldn't go in.



After this, I peeled off the other backing on the bits of tape and muscled them into the holes. They don't go in easy but they shouldn't if you don't want to loose them. I don't see them falling out, I've tried pulling them by hand and they won't budge.

This is what the future will bring...

N-Fab light bar with PIAA 510 lights
Replace the exsisting chrome step bars with matte black Aries
Tint the front side windows
New exhaust system (still undecided but leaning towards Borla)
New stereo (again undecided but leaning towards the Kenwood DDX 516 with Infinity door speakers and a Kicker sub)

A little pricey (but hey I've got an extra one if this one falls off) but I wanted something a little low key.

WOW looks awesome, but why did you get rid of the boobs sticker?

 

Judging by the placement, to make room for the WRC stickers.

WRC > boobs!

 

I like the way the truck looks alot but is the Satoshi grill cut oddly in the corner? It either looks rough or its an odd camera angle

 

you should rattle can the stuff behind the grille black so you cant see them, its really easy

 

I dont cut my satoshi's roughly, haha, you are either seeing the water droplets or a slight extension of the fiberglass reinforcement and bondo extending in:

 

I have a ton of Subarus... but they're all 1:18 scale.







And a few others, 508 cars total and an entire room in my house dedicated to them.

 

It's not rough, like Aaron said it's probably just water.

On the center caps, most of the tire changer and balancers that I've seen need the center cap removed in order to be mounted on them. Won't this be a bit of a problem when tire balance/fix/replace time comes around?

 

No, I bought them this way. I didn't build any of them.

And for painting the stuff behind the grill black, I thought about it but decided not to. I did relocate the horns though.
