I was talking with a coworker last night about cars and how automakers don't really make bad cars anymore. Pretty much all new cars are good cars.. except dodge. Dodge still sucks for some reason.

I'm gonna have to go against the grain here. We have Rams at work and given that they are used 24/7 they have been pretty great trucks. We had issues with a batch cracking oil coolers (which someone thought would be fine to make out of plastic...) but it just dropped some oil and the replacement was aluminum. Id own one!

My parent's buy Chrysler\Dodges but they think it's normal for a vehicle to be dead after 100,000 miles. I'm not a big fan. I'd probably buy a Kia or Hyundai before I buy a Dodge.

The wife has had a 2011 Hyundai Elantra and has a 2014 Santa Fe Sport AWD now and we've never did anything to them... her 2011 has 60k on it when we traded it in and I shit you not the only thing we ever did to it was fluids and 2 air filters. Her Santa Fe now has 50k on it and same thing, fluids and filters. I don't think I've even lifted the hood of the Santa Fe.

smashed this, broke that, covered it up with tape and paint
Dude this truck has 3000 miles on the odometer and is already getting vibrations from the driveshaft between 25-45ish
And the abs kicks in if you put any firm pressure on the breaks at all. You have to slowly break from twice the distance you would in any other vehicle. This thing is brand new and in my opinion is crap.

But I do know plenty of dodge trucks that are OLD that run like a Champ when taken care of... this truck does not fit that model

My mom's cousin has been raving about Kia the past 3-4 years. The funny thing is that he's exceedingly wealthy.

That shouldn't be a reflection of knowing a worth while vehicle purchase

Before the current Tacoma, I had a 2004 Dodge 2500 quad cab long bed 4wd hemi auto. I dragged overloaded 30' gooseneck trailers with it. (Hauled and restored farm tractors in spare time) I put 240,000+ miles on it without any real problems. On November 24. 2015 it got totalled by a crazy woman driving into the back of it @ 70mph.

It would have EASILY gone anothet 100,000. Better than any Ford or Chevy I ever owned.

Wife drives a 2008 Kia Rio. Quite possibly the best buy on the road. Cheap, reliable, and it's held up well to her torture. Would buy again.

I just think it's funny that a multimillionaire would buy a Kia. He does have several other cars though.

We don't know that trucks history either. They have it on the lot to loan out for a reason, jump in a brand new one and I bet it drives totally different. Don't judge the whole lineup based on your experience in one particular truck. If you drive another one and it's the exactly the same I would say form your opinion. I spend more time behind the wheel of a Ram than my Tacoma and have never experienced those issues.

It's probably why he's rich. All the WEALTHY people I know drive very modest vehicles. It's the new money that rolls in the latest and greatest.

Rich people get rich by living like they're poor.

Poor people stay poor by trying to live like they're rich.
