What length shocks are those? Looks like a sweet set up

Is there a consensus opinion on the Baja Kits +2 LT kit? I haven't heard of it before, but they're offering a group buy right now.

If no experience with that kit, what about other products? Anyone used their stock length UCAs or others

 

Looking like I'm going to be ordering up an LT kit here soon. So anyone interested in my front set up, here's what I've got and what I'll looking to get for it. Pm with any questions.

2.5" extended travel remote resi king coil overs for 4wd. Currently have 650lb springs on them but I have 600lb springs I will want to get rid of with them. Only think wrong with them is the lower shaft bearing (where the lower shock mount bolt goes through) needs replacing on both. I don't know how much the parts are for that, but it is an easyreplacement. I'd imagine $40 in parts for it.

New the shocks were $1500 and the extra springs were $190.

I'd like to get $1150 for the shocks and extra springs.

I also have a set of allpro upper control arms I'll be getting rid of. Uniballs and bushings were replaced within the last 10k miles.

New they cost $700

I'm asking $450 for them

 

I've got the prerunner version (same as 4x4 w/o cv's). The main critiques I have besides giving me springs that are more suited for V6 AC or DC trucks are cheapy ss brake lines that don't have places for factory clips (compression fitting at both ends) and non adjustable limit straps. I'd upgrade both of those items if I weren't parting out my truck for funds for my first gen build. I had my caliper clearance itself into one of my LCA's about 1/32". Probably just s weld that went a little proud and hasn't hurt the truck's performance. I've only been on pavement since I bought it so I can't comment on off-road performance, but those Kings are fun on dips in the road!

 

Thanks for the info. It'd be nice to hear from somebody who's abused them a bit off-road if anyone is out there listening, but your comments are helpful too!

 

What's stopping you from going with any of the standard +3.5 kits out there right now?

 

Width mostly. I have a lot of narrow trails and don't have a big desire for any more width, but I like the idea of moving the wheel forward a bit and a little more travel never hurts. I thought +2 would be a good compromise.

 

If you can't fit on a trail with a 3.5" kit, you probably won't fit with a 2". 3" of added width isn't going to be a deal breaker, coming from someone that went down that exact road before.

Money better spent to do heimed stock width uppers, quality lowers and a good coilover. Still get the added caster adjustment and leaves access to easily accessible spare parts at any auto parts store if you're on an extended trip.

 

what LT kit did you decide to go with?

 

Dirt king 3.5 kit. Hopefully it'll be on order this week

 

My truck is 86" wide from outside of tire which is about 3-4 extra inches than most due to wheel backspacing and offset and I have yet to find a trail that I should be on where I don't fit.

 

Long travel the single cab! lol two nice GBs right now

 

Basically how everyone here feels

 

i swap back and forth flavors of ramen for variety because of this very reason.

Try poverty flavor and just add some hot sauce.
