*FACEPALM* omg that is not what he's saying. You're twisting words *again* and doing this bs strawman argument thing. He's saying BECAUSE of industry wide deterioration toyota is following trends. Nowhere does he conclude that because toyota is trending down everywhere else must be trending down. He even cites BMW and another manufacturer as an example. Jeezus it's not even funny anymore, you really believe what you wanna hear huh? I guess that's what happens when you're shit gets backed in a corner.

Also your school comparison, even if you used it correctly, is faulty. If everyone's grades are failing, including your kid's, it can be anything. new curriculum, teacher, harder tests etc.....in other words NEW STANDARDS. That's why colleges have a curve.

But it's not an industry wide decline when Toyota Tacoma has been at the top and is now at the bottom of Initial Quality reports and studies.

I might need Cliff notes to catch up...

But I will add to the original topic. I just bought a 16' 4Runner, and the biggest complaint I read from online reviewing sources, was the transmission feels like an outdated truck transmission. I will say, that has to be what I love most about the 4Runner 5-Speed. Feels solid, and shifts like a truck transmission should. Hopefully it will last for years.

On a side note, the build quality on the T4R is awesome. As long as they keep making them in Japan, I'm sold.

Agree! As I have mentioned on the forum many times before, we have a 2016 SR5 Premium 4Runner and my 2016 Tacoma. NO comparison in quality and performance; the 4Runner is leaps and bounds better.

Sigh. Again faulty. You want to argue toyota has been declining more sure. However, he says industry wide decline is a thing and part of toyota's decline can be attributed to that. Whether most of it is on the industry or toyota, that's the argument.

The truth of the matter is even though the tacomas have had their share of issues throughout the early release, there isn't any better options in terms of new vehicles. No vehicle is perfect.

The gm twins have their share of issues...the only option would be ridgeline or older tacomas/outdated frontier.

Once the new ranger comes out I am sure the tacoma will make changes to compete... (not that they won't try to fix any problems that may come up before then)

That's your opinion and you're entitled to it but the facts still remain on the Quality reports and studies that have been conducted on the new Tacomas. You can scream fake news all you want but it just makes you look like a homer.

what...what in the hell....do you really not read? Have I not said repeatedly in this thread I might agree with you about toyota decline in quality? What is going on? Am I in an alternate dimension where everything said means the opposite?

All i did was point out your faulty logic and what he was trying to argue. I then left it up in the air about how you can see toyota's decline. It can be attributed mostly to toyota, or the industry, that's the argument.

    Holyyyyyy crap....... *shakes head*

Totally would. My buddy owns a Chevy / GM dealership in AZ. He begged me to take a Colorado home for a week before I went to get my Tacoma. I told him I didn't like the approach angle on the Colorado and I wanted to get back to my Toyota roots as I had such a great experience with my 2003 Tacoma which was the first new vehicle I purchased after signing my commissioning paperwork into the USAF.

You should really work on removing the emotion from your writing. It only detracts from whatever point you're trying to make and readability suffers.

The zr2 diesel and gas versions are limited to 5k towing capacity due to the front end redesign...something to do with airflow. Dropped from 7700, and 7000 respectively.

Kinda defeats the purpose of diesel other than fuel economy...which still meh
