I think the main reason I went with Giant is because of the additional travel for the $$ and the location. I was able to save a couple hundred bucks by driving 20 miles to their shop. Same with the camburg. Also through conversation with the guys at the shop they seemed to be quick to answer the phone, offered to show me the hardware and even their trucks with similar kits.

Also interested to hear from anyone that did their own install for the extended axles in the front, obviously 4x4 LT setup.

 

You'll need longer then 4" over stock lol

I bought a 20" something one from front range offroad. I'd get that at least.

 

How much of an extension is that over stock?

They aren't that bad. I've pressed out 4 and pipe dropped 1, didn't have any issues doing any of them. Personally I think you should do them yourself, it's a good learning experience to see how things are designed and assembled. Not sure why people complain about the grease, get some rubber gloves and a shitload of paper towels and go to town.

I also recommend doing them before you start the LT install. Go buy a set from a local wrecking yard and do them at your leisure before you tear apart your front end. You're going to need an spare anyway, you might as well go ahead and pick up a extra set.

 

Guys, I have been using my 2.5 floor jack with a 2x4 underneath it like I have seen some recommend. Are they any quality jacks to buy for lifting an LT truck? I hate playing games lifting my truck...

 

wow...how are those only $30 ea when the FK's are $75 ea ? 3 piece but lower grade metal ?

 

Pro Eagle makes a really nice jack with an extension and skid base and they sell a nice mount for it too if you want to keep it in your truck.

edit- if they are out of them SDHQ stocks them and with your TW discount it covers shipping.

Definitely a nicejack buts it's still just a floor jack.. and if you lift under the axles (which is the easiest thing to do) i wouldn't bother.

Im just tired of being ghetto AF with a beat up 2x4 underneath my truck with the jack barely clearing my tires to adjust my coils and shit. I agree for getting under the axle this isn't an issue. Looks like about a $500 investment to get it with the mount, but it seems to be the way to go.

 

Fair enough. It is really nice to use, just pricy

 

pretty sure he is talking about the front end, nobody has a prob getting the rear end up...and unless he's sas'd in the front he needs a taller jack
