Dealer is holding my truck hostage with no estimated repair date on the differential leak. 4 to 6 weeks (maybe?) and they given me a RAV-4 to drive...no trailer hitch for boat...dog will love screwing up the backseat of the loaner.

I'm close to being due for my 10k service but I'm scared to take it in.

Not sure what kind of boat you have, but even if it did have a hitch, the Rav4 is only rated for 1,500 pounds towing. So pretty much tow hitches on them are for bike racks and that is about it. At least you aren't in the prius/yaris club!

The Rav 4 would probably be great with the 3.5L motor if it was an option.

OP: What state are you in? Many states mandate an equivalent replacement--Tundra, or Tacoma. If you need to tow, I would explain that to the dealer. They must have something that has a tow package they can loan you.

My 2017 TRD Sport has been at the dealer about 3 weeks for the same issue. Latest update is they hope to have it fixed by July. At least they put me in a new TRD Off Road until it's fixed.

The 16 Taco was seized by the dealer. All they had left for loaners was this beauty:
