I got the Double Cab. Depending on your height/ride position, its more of a 3-4 seater. It's tough to fit anyone behind the driver in my truck, only my wife can squeeze in because she's friggin tiny. Otherwise, only the passenger side and center are usable on the rear seat. My dog loves the space though. I bought the DC because I plan for this truck to be around for 10 years or so, which means until we have kids and they reach 5-10 years old. After that, the back seat will be too small.

If you already have a people mover, go with AC. It looks better. The 6 foot bed is necessary. I opted for the long bed and although it makes the truck pretty long on a DC, I have found it necessary almost every time I haul.

You know that you can't have sex in the double cab, your wife and kids are already there. You don't want to have sex in an access cab eithor, because you'll knocker her up and have kids and then you will have to sell your He man truck and buy the soccer mom 4 door version. Eithor way you can't get laid in the Tacoma.

Actually, for it to be a real truck, it needs fewer doors and a longer bed ...

Do you need to know, or care?
Obviously, DCLB. Unless Toyota refuses to make it in the model you want. Then I would pick another model. If they didn't make a DCLB in a Limited, I'd be looking at something else. It's a show stopper for me.

I have a TRD ORD DCSB. I had the same debate. I landed on the DCSB because I have friends and a dog.

It was a tough decision but I've used the back seat more than I thought I would (freinds, family, dog, random gear). I've had a couple of camping trips with buddies where the truck was loaded with gear, towing a kayak trailer, and hauling 4 grown men. That wouldn't have been possible with an AC. I went with the short bed because I live in a city and park in parking garages--and when I take it off road I dont want to be driving a yacht.

BUT: The AC is absolutely a better proportioned, better looking truck in my opinion. You guys are making me want to swap mine out for an AC.

It would be hard because the backseat is small.. At least it would be for me. I would need want to because I hate making any kind of mess in my truck.. and another reason I won't is because my friends added me to their group chat called virgins for life..

Why do southerners call it "coke"? I remember going to Georgia and asking for a "coke". They said, "what kind?". Uhhh...coke coke, not sprite coke. lol

OP: How old are your kids? I think the kids are the key point here.

If they are older than 6-8, I would say get the double cab. You're going to want to travel with them in the back and have room for stuff in the bed.
If they are super young and still need car seats for the next 3-5 years, then you could probably just use the minivan.

I didn't see any posts in regards to what you want to carry in the truck. You might not even need a truck if you aren't hauling much. But when it comes time to take 2+ kids and a truckload of stuff, you're going to want the double cab. Opening the access cab to frequently put your kids in there will be a pain in the ass.

To the point about carrying passengers. When you walk to the parking lot with 4 people and nobody wants to drive, you just say, "i have my truck, it's 4 door, but the back is small. YOU GUYS PICK WHO SITS IN THE BACK". I guarantee whoever is relegated to the back will offer to drive.

No one in WA calls it "pop" anymore. I remember hearing it as a kid a few times but it's just "soda" now.

I grew up in western WA and as kids we called it pop in the 80s. Can't remember the last time I actually called it that.
