and by all means cut a big hole in your airbox while you're at it,, you know, for better air flow with that restrictive paper filter.... and then screw a cover back over it because it let water in during a rain storm while you drove down your neighborhood street.

 

Well, that could very well be the case... It has a sticker that says "K&N filter won't void your warranty" so that seemed like a strange one to put on after the fact, but I suppose anything is possible

I laugh a little every time I read someone do the deckplate mod claiming they got a noticeable increase in power.



Oh, and my WRX came with a drop-in K&N, I took it out a put a paper filter in.

 

It's just stickers on a stock air box.

Get an AEM washable filter. Fits in the stock box and you can clean it with dish soap.

K&N is the parent company of Factor 55.

 

Wouldn't surprise me.

 

Stickers/patches are worth EAF points around here though.

 

I never had issues with my K&N filters either. I just like the 1 step washable design of the AEM filters. No oil needed. Damn near exact same filter design as K&N.

 

How long you been running it?

 

I was thinking about buying one of these filters. No need for the synthetic cleaner they try to sell you?

 

Damn I was gonna hit it the weekend after memorial weekend. But it's looking like its not gonna happen...

Nope. Just a mild dish soap like Dawn or similiar.
