Front Caliper Type?

Are they press-back or wind-back?

Amazon has a smoking deal on the 18-piece wind/press kit. If they are the wind-back type, I'm going to buy it.

Press. Wind back pistons are found on rear discs. Tacos no tienen....
Make sure you crack open the bleeder to get that dirty fluid out of the caliper once you start pushing the piston back in.

 

Perfect, and that explains why I needed to borrow this kit from AutoZone when I did the rear brakes on my Fox after converting the rear to disc from an SN-95.

Screw it, buying the kit anyway. Will need it when I do the brakes on my gf's Infinity too.

 

FYI, large channel locks work well too. Was my go-to tool for oil filters and brake piston in my shop cart. Pad the piston with the old brake pad and put a rag on the other side to protect the caliper body and squeeze hard while cracking the bleeder screw. A little cumbersome, but you get used to it. LOL
Never mind, just get the kit. You won't foul up the piston and seals with the kit as it will guide the piston in straight.

 

Yeah, I have a giant Stanley wood clamp I use that has rubber padded jaws. That was my go-to for my Jeep.

 

I have a large kit like that and I cannot remember but I think there was a large attachment for front calipers too, I have SN-95 Brakes on my Fox too and the rears screw in.

Absolutely. Really appreciate the "duh" moment for the rears being screw in. Never clicked for me before.
