Wind noise

Bullshit. New dealer, even if you have to drive..

 

Do you have the part # for the seals they put in yours?

 

I'd have to look at my records. Ill take a look when I go home.

 

In the market right now for a '12-'15 Tacoma but with the prices being how they are a 3rd gen isn't out of the question. Is the wind noise issue with these 3rd gens at least better than the '12-15 models?

 

I can't attest to that since I never owned a 2gen, BUT its bad enough to make you wanna put in ear plugs IF your unlucky enough to get one with the issue. I assume all of them aren't gonna have the problem.

 

I'll be sure to take a quick highway cruise if I go test drive a third gen in the next couple weeks

 

Make sure to get up to a good speed, also.. it may depend on wind conditions. Be sure to go on a windy day heading towards the wind.

 

I have never had the "kazoo" noise, but had a hissing or air leaking noise up until a few weeks ago. My noise simply has fixed itself. Wierd! but I guess my truck is so good that it heals itself!!!

 

I have had my truck for 1 1/2 yrs before I was in the right conditions for it to happen..... What did it on mine was this::

60 MPH hwy. and a 90 deg. wind directly from the right side....the wind was strong, maybe 50 MPH with gusts up to 60.

I do not normally drive in "open" country where I get winds like that..... If you do a test drive, I'd suggest doing it on I-25, going southbound, north of Cheyenne WY. I drove that on my Goldwing and wore a "flat spot" on the tires by leaning into it so far...!! He, he

 

Just took mine to dealer. I told them about the noise. Coming from the passenger and driver side doors in crosswind. And told them I get a kazoo sound. They looked it up on the computer, and said they will replace the seals for free. Parts are ordered under warranty.

 

Or turn your stereo up...I upgraded the speakers and it went away...

 

What state are you in? My dealer wants to keep my truck to do test drives and all that stuff.

 

I have noticed a bit of a wind noise from both doors .. can't tell if my backs do it or not. The noise isn't as extreme as those ones but noticeable at high speeds. Hope they will fix me up
