    Thanks everyone.

Yeah, I'm thinking its going to be faster if I do them. I'll see If I can get Kyle to give me a hand and give him some cash for the help. I was always told the ICONs were different then the standard stuff but looking on a few sites it seems that they are the same.

Different seal sizes. They aren't standard sizes. The process is the same

I knew they had different seals but back in the day I remember people saying you needed different tools for them. That's not the case.

I'm getting 10-14mpg. I love my truck and have no issues DDing it, but I am looking for better gas mileage and a "go faster" car. Also, when we take trips to the travel trailer and I know we won't be using the truck for anything, I'd rather not throw kayaks on the gf's RSX.

I hate you all for the rest of your comments. I am a lesbian trapped in a man's body, so I got that part covered! I will never vape though... :pout::rofl:Anyways, I didn't realize Subie's had a lot of mechanical issues. I'll keep my options open.

    Workin' on it....
Ours was still under warranty when we traded it in -- no issues, but we had a 2014 Subaru Forester and that was an awesome little car and could fit a shit ton of stuff in the back.

Edit: It was a 6-speed manual, not a CVT.

Just a final thought since I didn't really see most of the conversation I had a 2015 wrx that was relatively stock aside from the Cobb intake and and accessport and muffler deleted and it was in the shop for about 3 months for all stupid crap, I had the Ecu recall which made my car be on its second motor and ecu, I had a really bad cam sensor cover leak that they couldn't figure out in 3 trips to the dealership, I had my clutch catastrophically fail at 10k the dealership told me there was a known issue with those and every 2015 they ever sold came back for at least 1 clutch. Avoid subarus. They say the best days you own a Subaru are the first day you own it and the last and I could say that was my experience.

I'm not getting anything else unless some freak accident happens to Lucy. I'm good with my truck now. May consider an older T4R at some point for play but not this year.

I think someone was calling me a lesbian or something.

I think at one point they had different valves to fill the nitrogen, like a needle valve maybe? But pretty sure that was the only difference and should be standard schrader valves that you can use a normal no loss chuck

I feel you, I happen to give a fuck but that's only because for the longest time the WRX/STi was my boy racer "dream car" and when I finally got one, I realized it was not quite what it cracked up to be. Looked gorgeous, was plenty fast, but... lots of quirks and not an "easy" car to drive.

I'm also that guy who reads all the little tech specs and takes shit apart because I wanna see inside.:p This carries over to Tacos though, or really any vehicle you put in my garage.

Subarus are... a special snowflake. While there are parts of them that are exceptionally well engineered (the symmetrical AWD, for instance) they are finicky to drive and absolutely intolerant of abuse, which is a bad combination. The transmissions are/were notorious for exploding but that's mainly because they have such an overabundance of mechanical grip that your standard launch is never going to smoke the tires. The drivetrain ends up taking that shock load, which is bad news bears. What was happening was the main & counter shafts were actually "flexing" apart, eventually it would get pronounced enough that 2nd gear would shear teeth off and puke them into the rest of the transmission. They actually "fixed" the transmissions in later years with reinforcements and a check valve that doesn't allow you to dump 1st as hard... but what does take the load now? Clutch, baby! So now you grenade the clutch instead of the transmission.

Your average Vape-lord, Ken Block wannabes can't actually drive all that well and so they nuke these cars and blame the equipment. I will admit that there were times I really stuffed a launch or a shift, because it's way tougher than you realize to drive fast and not beat on things you shouldn't beat on. Compared to other cars where you can just sidestep the clutch and go baby go, the WRX does not take kindly to that.

Couple that with your more vanilla engineering fuck-ups (Phase 1 non-turbo EJ25s from the mid 90's blew headgaskets like clockwork at pretty much exactly 100K) and questionable engineering decisions...

...like the engineer who had just watched SAW when he decided where the engine oil filter should go:

and you get a very bizarre combination. I don't see myself going for another WRX or STi ever, but I haven't written off Subaru as a whole. The 86/BRZ is made by them in Gunma Japan.
