Clear bra that saved my paint

what he is getting at is that investment is something you make money on. A vehicle is very rarely an investment because you start losing money on it pretty much right away.

 

The point of the material is to take the damage and not pass it on to your paint so after a certain period of time you can replace it or take it off. Of course it looks like shit if someone swipes you, but at least it's not permanent in your paint.

 

So mine as well just shoot rocks into the paint, get chips and let it rust - right??

Technically, an investment is something you get a return on. Whether that return be monetary or material, negative or positive, its still an investment. Trying to maximize that return is a game I play pretty hard with all my expenses, especially my truck.

 

In my first post I said I had to take mine off and the adhesive of the material stripped my paint. So it caused damage to mine. Had to repaint the hood and front fenders. I also can buff and fix some scratching with paint, you cannot do that with film.

To replace the film costs more money than sustaining damage and doing a repaint. Which is why I don't see their pupose. I've not see a bra application for less than $1,000. Thats a lot of dough joe. I'd rather double that and go full Line-X. Maybe just me.

Ill never have a film touch my truck again.

but when you drive a brand new 50k truck down a gravel dirt rocky road.... gotta assume some responsibility... albeit these cars have shit orange peel effect from the factory...

you keep taking my posts to the next level man. Think of it like this: when I'm doing my offroading (admittedly light, if that's alright with you), I'll take my time to analyze a route before possibly damaging my underside. Wouldn't you say you do the same?

Not hating on OP, I have actually considered doing ppf but going with XPEL Stealth for a satin finish

 

Just taking some measure to keep it clean and not worry about hauling ass through the dessert at the same time
