Does LT self center steering wheel?

I read as much as I could find on pursuing a LT build, looking like a +2 so far. I know driving dynamics of Taco is gonna change. As for the turning with a +2 kit, will steering self center back again? Does it very from kit to kit? I read where steering wheel don't center back during turning, perhaps its a bad alignment or extreme LT build, I have no clue.

I believe that caster will affect self centering regardless of which kit you have. I may be wrong, but a lot of guys are adamant about getting 2.5-3* of caster for the wheels to self center. My +2 kit centers decently well as my first gen which is in need of some steering maintenance. The alignment shop was lazy about not wanting to try to max out the caster so I think I'm getting around 1.8-2* if I remember correctly. I'd like to experiment some but I don't have a lifetime alignment on my 2nd gen. Too busy to do it myself.

 

Thanks for the feedback. The one I'm eyeballing is Baja Kits +2, mentions it has added caster in this setup for better driveability. I leaning on that kit and likely getting in on that group buy. Just needed to up my knowledge a bit, so I can commit to it.

 

Same here steering was stiff at first but it's gotten better.

 

Uniballs make the steering weird i think .. my wheel used to kind of stick to whichever way I turned, after a month or so it would self center but not as much as factory.

 

This, castor controls that. More castor makes the wheels self center going forward, but make it want to turn while going in reverse. Ever notice when backing up the wheel wants to turn more instead of going back straight. Same principal with rake on a motorcycle/bicycle. If your wheel does not center it most likely castor being too low, or worn/stuck parts. Good working uniballs will not affect any of this
