How is the truck going to defend itself if you leave it unarmed. Better to have it not need it than need it and not have it

Maybe, but if you have a CCW and need to go into any type of state or federal building.. then what?

In the famous words of every rapper in history, "i'd rather be judged by the 12 than carried by the 6".

Basically, I'm smart enough to know when to use my gun and when not to. If I'm pulling it out, it means that me or someone I love may die if I don't do anything. I'd rather live with the fact that I'm in prison for shooting someone than live free knowing that my wife or kids died because of my lack of action.

Mbrp exhaust. Cold air intake. A crap load of high end audio waiting to go in. Lift, tires, skidplates coming in the next month.
Compact concealed carry gun on my hip while driving and full size in the center console at all times. Mounting a holster in console might be a bit safer than my drop it on in their method, but unless you have a complete POS handgun I have no fear of accidental discharge. The way I see it if the 4 seconds it takes me to grab it is too long I should have been more aware of my surroundings. Don't forget to throw a few extra mags in the door pocket you don't want to be limited to just 15 rounds or so. As another questionable measure of safety I have 10 pounds of sound deadening material in each door. It's for car audio not a elevated level of paranoia, but hey its thick rubber sheets so it might provide a little bit of cover. :oldglory:

In Texas, you can't carry into many types of establishments and often times don't know until you have arrived and see the correct signage posted. A safe vehicle storage is pretty much a given if you have an LTC down here. (License to carry replaced the old concealed carry a few years ago when open carry passed)

Heck I plan on leaving a shotgun in the truck as well. Let that trigger some snowflakes.

    Like, so many.
Holster cost $10, Velcro cost $5. I did super glue the Velcro to the plastic. The whole setup took about 10 minutes.

redneck pinstriping, various stickers, not 1 but 2 glade air fresheners because I fart a lot.
Because when there's a zombie invasion we gotta be ready. Or if somebody pisses you off at a stop light then you can flash the piece and watch them shit their pants and do a uturn into oncoming traffic :)...been there done that. Or if you get into a pinch and need to drill a hole in something but you've forgotten your drill, this works really well. Or if you get really drunk and decide to go shootin then you need a gun to do it with. Or if somebody pisses you off at a bar and you're trying to impress the ladies its always nice to have a piece nearby. Or if you're at a wedding full of rednecks its fun to fire it in the air during the reception. Or if you see a rattlesnake and you're not too drunk to hit it without shooting yourself, its kind of handy that way. Or if you're in a convenience store and its being robbed and you're feeling a bit frisky its nice say "I've got you fam" but Pro Tip...keep one in the pipe or you'll look dumb. There's lots and lots of reasons to carry. But the best reason of all is if you're an American and you're in a CCP state and you drive a Tacoma, you can bet there will always be a piece around if you need it.

Yup, thanks, I get it, that's what I was guessing. I know that everyone thinks they are proficient and know how to handle their gun and self defence against the bad guys, but in practice it doesn't always work out that way. When the big moment finally comes, and you reach for that weapon a lot of unintended consequences could happen despite the best of intentions or skills.

You and your gun free countries are living in a dream world big guy. Keep guns out of law abiding citizens hands so the criminals can have them. You think just because your law says you cant have guns that criminals will follow that law. I am thankful we live in a country where common sense prevails and the founding fathers gave us a chance to protect our selves and loved ones if needed.

I usually pocket carry (only way I can at work) but still carry a fullsize pistol back and forth to my truck everyday (goes in console). Plus, there's an older, double barrel shotgun behind the seat that lives there.

I don't understand how if someone trespasses and steals my stuff from my property, I'm somehow to blame. Sounds like some liberal bullshit.

And no one down here understands that mentality. Call me crazy, but I'd rather shoot the guy I catch in my house with a weapon than crouch in the corner and hope the Mounties can make it in time...

because you have those laws, i'm assuming criminals don't have guns? when was the last time a "law-abiding gunholder" committed an egregious crime? 99% of the crimes committed with guns were possessed illegally or by a criminal with a record. You never hear about the millions of legal gun owners who don't do shit. just the .00001% of illegal gun owners and their crimes that make the news.

I just toss my M&P in the console when I'm gonna be driving through the hood. Other than that it's either AIWB or at home somewhere nearby.

I also participate in handgun classes taught by ex-special forces trainers regularly, because it's absolutely useless to carry a gun if you don't train with it often. And no, watching Lethal Weapon doesn't count as training. When you have the adrenaline dump, your muscle memory and reflexes take over. I literally cannot tell people enough that getting a handgun and a carry permit are just the tip of the iceberg of what you need to do to be effective in a life or death situation.

Open admission of terroristic threat, and arguably assault with a deadly weapon. Good plan on the web. Especially being a Californian. Ballsy, stupid but ballsy.

    Alcohol and guns, good plan.

Pray tell this was all in jest.

I have a CCW, and I never carry. If someone points a gun at me and demands me get out of my car, I'll just ask if I can put it in park for them. Want my wallet, here you go. None of that shit is worth getting in a gun fight over. Having been to the two-way shooting range, the risk vastly outweighs the benefit.

Aaaaand the last place I would yap about where my weapons are stashed in my vehicle... is on the web where people can easily id and track me ;-)

Highly Recommend Locker Down as a console safe, some velcro and a serpa holster. If its not in a safe it shouldnt be in the car unattended
