Yeah seems a bit steep, but I like this mounting solution for a spare ... plus it looks easy to attach a ton of other stuff as well such as rotopax or maxtracs AND it swings out!

True, but I don't think that will be too much of an issue. Sometime I get 2x4s or drywall, but not all that often. Plus I could keep my OEM tailgate and reinstall if needed for a big trip to Home Depot.

 

cant you just keep your tailgate and if you ever need to use it switch them out?

people sell them on craigslist for dirt cheap to... its nice sometimes to just throw everything in the trailer

 

I deleted my trailer hitch.

 

Just go high clearance with a swing out man, that tire gate is over half the price of one.

 

Yeah I know. I have an off-road rear bumper, but was thinking about switching to the full high clearance that goes all the way to the rear fenders. Gah!
