According to Toyota, that diff is probably functioning as intended.

Shite! $4450 at an auction? I like the "as is" disclaimer.

Here is another testament to the strength of Toyota. Drunk driver rear ended me going 90+. Walked away with just bumps and bruises. Still really sore, but alive!

Wanted to like your post but damn, that is a gnarly looking wreck. Glad you were able to walk away from that! What happened to the other driver?
    Take care and heal quickly!

I wonder what I would do in that situation. If my friends or family were in the car and any of them got hurt, and I got out to some drunk dickhead stumbling around... I'm not really sure what I would do.

Did you tune him up and not get in trouble or just restrain yourself?

A drunk in a wreck many times will be unscathed. This due to having slower reflexes, so they don't tense up just before impact, think like becoming gumby. Often they will walk away, while the innocent victim gets hurt or dies. I can't stand drunk drivers, so I am really glad you are ok.

I asked if he was drinking and he said yes. I politely told him to get the **** away from me.

Trip the drunk, they fall down a lot anyway. No one will be the wiser.

Not me. Just a pic and news write up I stumbled across from last summer.

NORTH BONNEVILLE, Wash. (KOIN 6) — Three people were killed, including a seven-year-old child, and three others were hurt, after a head-on crash Saturday evening.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the crash was reported at 8:04 p.m. Saturday along State Route 14 about three miles west of North Bonneville.

The state patrol said 24-year-old Heath Martin, who lived in North Bonneville, was eastbound driving a 1997 Toyota Tacoma, when he crossed the center line. He was not wearing a seat-belt, troopers said.

Troopers said it remains unknown if drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash. State officials confirmed to KOIN 6 News Martin did not have a valid Washington state drivers license.

When Martin crossed the center lane, his vehicle hit a 2005 Toyota Sienna van that was being driven by 47-year-old Anatoliy Goy, troopers said. He was wearing a seat-belt, but died on scene, according to troopers.

There were four other people inside the minivan, according to troopers:

Mariya Goy, 49, was transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center and then transferred to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center. She was wearing a seat-belt. On Sunday evening, a spokesperson for Legacy said Mariya Goy was reported to be in “fair” condition.

Two boys, a nine-year-old and an 11-year-old, were also hurt in the crash. They were both initially transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center and then transferred to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center. Both were also wearing seatbelts.

A seven-year-old boy was also killed. The child was wearing a seat-belt.

The names of the three children have not been released by WSP; however, everyone traveling in the minivan is from Kent, Wash.

There will be no criminal charges filed in the case, troopers said, because Martin died.
