i did the same but i also took the headlights out completely that gave me all the room i needed to ground everything and mount the ballasts.

true! but i went for the quick method, and there is plenty of space to mount the ballasts without removing the lights

for all of you that have done HID installs, any suggestions on what to use to mount the ballasts and relay control box in the engine compartment. I'm wary that industrial strength velcro will hold up?

Also any tips for me on getting the weather boot over the bulbs? I got my kit in the mail and I am going to do the install this weekend...

i mounted by relay next to my battery against the body just zip tied it, as for the ballast i just zip-tied the stock wiring, as for the boots they suck trying to fit over the new bulb i just trimmed mine to fit the new bulb

The only velcro you can trust to stand the test of time is the 3M Dual Lock Clear Velcro. It's the same stuff that hold the ez pass to your windshield

I use the 3M dual lock velcro on marine applications and the stuff is amazing

Just makes sure you clean both mounting surfaces with rubbing alcohol

Here's a few pics of where I mounted my ballast

Installed last night and it was cake... The 35w is enough for surface streets and the 4500k is way blue enough for me... a little more blue than I wanted but it will work. I live in a rural area, so I took a small trip up river on a dark road less traveled and the HID's are night & day difference from the halogens. I just need to fine tune the damn rubber boots! The DDM kit is pretty good quality for chineese origin and cables seemed very well constucted.

I gonna order the 55 watts 8000k for headlights, but can I put 55 watts 8000k hids in fog lights? also, is it better if I order the hid wire harness too for both headlights and fogs? thanks.

55w in the fogs would be too much (heat wise) run 35w 6k and you setup should match pretty good

Took a week. Ordered on the 3rd got here today on the 10th. Install was super easy. They need to be aimed bad, i will take it out tonight and reaim them and also get some night shots. The thin ballasts are tiny, they are about half the size of the large raptor ones.
