Me too, it's been 10 years since I've seen one, but I'm not proud of that. This was actually pretty easy, most painful part was the initial anesthetic injection, didn't feel a thing after that. Much better than one time I remember as kid where I was having a cavity filled, and after 7 or 8 injections I could still feel everything. They couldn't even continue it. That was a bad time, I felt sick the rest of the day.

 

More than likely the nerves in your mouth are in a different spot. I have to tell every new dentist to aim a little higher to get the nerve. Otherwise, like you, I can get ten shots of novacaine and still feel everything.

Interesting. I just skip the novicane. Stopped using it in high school because it never worked. Just beared down and got it over with. The pain was on par with all the work before (due to it not working).

I'll ask my dentist about this.

Last time I had work done my dentist stuck the needle down the side of my tooth right to the specific nerve. Hurt like hell but ended up working for the duration of the crown.

Buddy of mine, big dude, walks in to work one day in tears! Dude had an abscess from not taking care of his teeth and not paying attention to the signs! Went to the dentist, and had the same issue, only they were going to pull the tooth! He told them to just fuckin do it! With all that pain, he said it was almost a sense of relief the second they were done.
